Back when these country award shows featured SO much talent! This song brings back a lot of good memories for me, as well.

Man, you could strand me on a deserted island with this one any old time. The recording of this on Mark O'Connors album is really a mindblower.

I remember watching this live on whichever awards show it was. Heavy sigh. Will we ever have music this real, ever again ?

WOW. Monroe, Scruggs, Perkins, etc. so much great talent on one stage. Wish we would see more of this in Nashville these days

Oh My Goodness, they all look so young. We WERE all so young. Time, Time, Time!! Carl Perkins is gone, these guys are all 50 or more now and the guys who were their heroes are mostly gone.

I wasn't looking for it, but had a tape of possibly this performance, and never before SAW it captured on video. I can't get enough of this particular number and some others as well - don't know if it's out here, I have to look, but Sally Ann is a very haunting traditional tune. Mark O'Connor may be the best ever at what he does - at least the best since I've been paying attention.

This is such an amazing video - I don't know of a better one, anywhere. Maybe the most picking talent ever assembled on one stage?

@brib2brib2 Had the great pleasure of catching this gig a few years back when visiting Nashville. Wonderful evening. guitar and steel playing out of this world- and I'm a piano player.

Can you even imagine?????? Dude I had a smile on my face during the whole clip. I can’t believe I’ve never seen this before

Speaking for myself the best part was Carl Perkins being part of this bit.

NOBODY puts Albert Lee to shame. Nobody - not Brent. Only one man was in this category - Danny Gatton who put EVERYBODY to shame. It's funny on some videos to see Albert making Eric Clapton look like he's a beginner.

You just don’t see pickers like this today !

Download a program called Audacity (and some others do this as well) and hit the "record" button, then start the video - you'll have just the audio left over and you can save it in any one of several formats.

@capitalismforever To tell you the truth this was from the 25th annual CMA Awards show in 1991 & the first president Bush was in attendence along with his wife Barbara.

James Burton's missing. And of course, Danny Gatton. Maybe my bud Arlen Roth would have fit in also.

I Agree Brent Mason is one hell of a Player and he could put a lot of Guitar Players to shame but Vince Gill and Albert Lee isn't in that category.
