Watkins was massively over exposed to sex at a very young age, sleeping with teachers in his teenage years, lecturers in his later teenage, early adult years. Had an older teenage female fan club when a 12 year old boy of 16/17 year old girls. The second he discovered the most insidious drugs known to man, he was so numbed to sexual experience he became obsessed with pushing sexual boundaries, and testing the 'adoration' of his fans. What he did was horrifically 'wrong' but all of the alleged child sexual offences he was said to have committed outside of what he was convicted of, were proven to be bragging and not 'reality.' His baby rape case was one of only 1.5% on criminal record from the NCA that involved zero physical injury. It was a fantasy of the mothers' adoring him so much he 'got off' on them 'surrendering' their infants to him like a God, more than he ever 'got off' on actually attempting to commit the act. He couldn't go through with it when the time came. I'm not 'excusing' what he did at all. However that he was a baby RAPING monster or serial paedophile is simply not true. Once you're an adult and even before then you're responsible for your behavior and if you go around making plans to force yourself on babies and then kiII them you deserve the electric chair as far as I'm concerned. @@deanfowles3707 He never befriended the yorkshire ripper. Don't know where you heard that, and he never plotted to 'kill a baby.' He easily 'could have' if that was his intent. I'm not excusing his actions, he's just nowhere near as horrifically bad as was portrayed in the media. All justice is relative. He got 35 years for 'pretending' to rape a baby, whilst most 'actual' baby rapists never got more than 18, unless they were repeatedly doing so.

It's fine to call him a peado, but his band mates did absolutely nothing wrong. Great musicians and a real shame that Ian has completely tainted all of their music, forever.
