How did it perform?

@@baysidessi not directly comparable to the Hitachi im always in as it was only a 9 tonne machine. Its lifting capacity is very impressive as it managed to lift a 2 tonne block albeit without much reach away from the body but high enough to drive upto a HGV and place it on. To do a full sweep of the arm from all the way out to as close as possible is not achieved by the armrest levers like in normal 360 machines, you have to use the floor pedal too. (There is a button to make the two inside boom rams work together but they are actuated by which ever ram has the most pressure on it at the time so one will move quicker than the other) So I prefer to use the pedal without that which for me wasn't too alien as i have a split boom on my Hitachi. But it takes very good control by the operator to do a clean sweep if you was grading stone say without getting a spoil of the grade when you need to engage the floor pedal. I wouldn't like to be on the dig all day in one of these. Its more of a utility machine to do short bucket jobs and be versatile for lifting/replacing a telehandler if high level landing bays are not part of the site. Very good 4WD steering for tight spots and cab visability is great. I think my boss wants to get the MWR14 to have comparable reach and to handle the heavy lifts.
