I live in Lubbock, TX. Missed that first show but caught them on their own in 1994 and got everyone's autograph. Caught a Tim Kelley pick and a Blas drum stick. It was awesome.

I met Mark Slaughter at club La Vela in pcb In the 90s. It wasn't backstage or some big meet and greet, the dude was standing at the indoor bar and ordering something to eat. It was just a pat on the back and complimenting him on shredding on guitar that night. Hes an amazing guitar player. That was the first time I ever saw him as a frontman, lead guitarist, roadie, and fan, the guy does it all. Also, Dana is a hell of a producer. I love slaughter. I grew up in a wonderful era of music and still Jam all my 80s bands today.

In 1983 I was able to go backstage (the only time I have ever been backstage) was at a DIO show. He was the coolest guy and I am 6’5” and he was shoooort to me. Jokingly I asked him “so how’s your wife Sue doing”? He was like “what…my wife’s name isn’t Sue”. I said that “I thought it was Sue and that Phil Collins wrote a song about her” 😂 He cracked up big time and that is very memorable for me.

Notice that when somebody asked about the Boys are Gonna rock video they edited out the answer, probably because the video is so bad there's really no way to explain it.
