Mark nailed it re involvement in sports and visiting hospitals. One) because sports produces and demands disciplined human beings and Two) visiting hospitals unlock and allow access to they're/our untapped empathy hidden behind they're/our disappointments. Once again, Respect

I remember watching Mark, James, Lee others train up Elliot with Ham and Ham was always looking to pull kids out the neighborhood that had the heart to learn how to box. Boxing in the 80’s early 90’s in DC was life. Everybody boxed at the some gym.

Appreciate the shout out !!! In all actuality we did crank up the “ call out” which is a version of guns down hands up we Just couldn’t do it publicly because of some USA Boxing regulations!!! There are others like myself quietly resolving disputes under the radar behind closed doors !!! Unfortunately there are some situations that you just have to step back because the individual(s) involved just not willing to let go !!! James aka (lil Han) was something special like Mark said for those who knew!!! He was staying at an apartment I had in Oxon out Boxing for about 5 years and I cranked him back up he jumped into all the major tournaments and one them as a result he was invited to represent the US in the Goodwill Games (Moscow) but was told during the physical he couldn’t ever fight again because of an old injury he sustained on a dirt bike !!!

I'm gonna gonna give y'all l one ! I was ringside at" Hillcrest boxing gym" for the 1984 "Golden Gloves" Paul Walker vs FLOYED Favors. Favors was the darling of USA boxing and a shoe in to represent USA in the 84 Olympics in a few months -) Paul not only beat Favors ,but dropped him in the 2nd round . A few months later FLOYED Favors got knockout in the Olympic trials. To this day i believe that Paul Walker fight took something out of him. I swear to this day it was 3 of the best rounds of boxing I've ever seen. It was Hagler/ Hearns like.

Coming up in DC I been to 2 Sharp Barber Shop to get my hair cut back in the day, my first NBA player I ever met was Sherman Douglas at summer league up Dunbar HighSchool, and Got bootleg dvds and bathed apes from Curtbone store he had in Landover by the Home Depot back in early 2000. Good to see the hometown heroes do their thing and tell their stories to the world. Gave me pride to watch 2Sharpe fight on tv as Kid and as a Man to go to a SU game to see #20 in the rafters and tell my son who he is and where he from. Love and Respect to Curtbonetv.
