+How People Start Their Day Not trying to defend the guy but people do stupid stuff and even as far as what he has done and still turn out later in life changed people. Who can say what is in his heart, only he does and God if you are religious but yes he will have to live with the past for the rest of his life and probably regrets what he did but again I don't know him or his heart so people really shouldn't judge.

I don't anything wrong with a text/call phone... yeah, you can hold off on smart phones, but what if he/she needs to call the police, or gets lost, or just needs to contact someone? In our day and age, I'd almost consider that irresponsible.
@Googlize19 жыл бұрын
If I had kids, I'd only buy them a phone depending on the circumstances. As school for example, if their school is a fair distance away, I'd give them one. But if it's only less than 15 minutes away, I wouldn't. I think 14-16 years old is the perfect age to be given a phone. By this age, kids are capable of thinking for themselves and knowing what's right and wrong. By this age, kids become independent and want *freedom*, too. *Strict* parenting will only lead to rebellion.

@muddacrew9 жыл бұрын
Malachi's House Why? what good does that do? What if they go somewhere and need to call 911, or need to call a family member, but can't because they have no phone? I understand 6 years old, as no 6 year old needs a phone, but once you get into highschool, phones become essential. You can use it for your alarm, to study, as a calender, calculator, to take pictures and document your early years so you can look back on them, and not to mention the immense social implications of phones
@Malachishouse9 жыл бұрын
Really!? You find a phone for children essential. If my children are anywhere where they need a phone, 1)there's usually a landline phone 2)if there's not a landline, there are other people around, mostly me, that they can borrow my phone. It's not essential. Don't put yourself in a situation that you would be workout a phone or in need of one. They have me at home as their alarm. They have a laptop, which is for studying. They have memories that work that they use as their calendars and they also run their plans by me so I have their plans in my phone. They can do math in their heads or use the scientific calculator I bought them for $100/each., which hooks up into the laptop that's meant for studying. They have cameras if they want, but I know instantly they aren't going to put selfies and other bs on Facebook, instagram, or other social media. My 16 year old was allowed to have Facebook when he turned 14, but the other two aren't. If they want to connect to a friend, they can borrow my phone or talk to them in person. The social implications, really, you mean the ones where people lie, cause drama and bully each other. No thank you. They don't need these things in their lives. I walked everywhere growing up, and as a female, but I didn't need a mobile phone. They don't go anywhere without asking me first, that's called parenting. Society doesn't raise my children and either do new technologies or fads
@robthebuilder3129 жыл бұрын
Of course everyone has a different opinion, but i don't see what the big deal is. You aren't handing your child over to satan, you're giving them a cell-phone. And it doesn't have to be a smartphone, however if you trust your kids that isn't an issue. Not letting them have one for monetary reasons is completely different though. I got a flip phone when i was about 12 which i shared with my brother. Nearing the end of highschool, i've had a smartphone for about 5 years now and there is no denying it's a very useful tool.
@Malachishouse8 жыл бұрын
Now my 12 year does, and Facebook too, thanks to dad. Funny how the schools, teachers and doctors agree that they are more of a distraction and he's not mature enough to have these things, but even when you have full custody and the child's not even of age to own a fb account, he can still do as he pleases, including skipping classes, not wearing his glasses. Great parenting. Be where you need to be, set a place and time ahead of time and meet there. Really don't let the phone be your babysitter or your planning unit. We need to teach our children how important it is to follow directions.
