Just bought gorgeous sweet corn and so excited to learn this freezing technique. I always microwave my sweet corn IN the husk...it turns out perfect... Thanks so much for this new information..

You are welcome. Don't thaw to cook. Keep it frozen.

@@markellyfarm Thank You! I was going to thaw it...would have ruined it and cried. SO thanks twice. Sure is great to look in the freezer and know I have fresh sweet corn waiting for Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanks for all the great tips. I have been growing corn in my garden for a couple of years, but this is the first year I have planted enough to need to freeze it. I have the exact same situation with my first row of corn that is the southern most facing row. When the corn was growing the stalks were much taller and thicker than the row that was the northern most row. Also it just so happens that my southern most row is also closest to my tomato plants. Been checking the corn daily and I believe about a quarter of it should be ready for picking within the next week. I'll try freezing it like you did and let you know how it turns out. Thanks-

If you don't have a vacuum food saver but have a vacuum pump for bleeding brakes you can use to freeze food in a plastic bag

Plastic straw works well for sucking air out of zip lock.

So you just take it out without thawing it and either boil it or microwave it?
@markellyfarm11 ай бұрын
With the bags I use, I usually just throw the bag in a pot of water. If i microwave, I will take the ears out of the bag and place them in water in the sink to thaw.
