I was rooting for ONS even though I also like Vandrousova, she's so likable. Unseeded & Unsponsored, at least this will get her the recognition she needs... Congratulations Marketa🎾🏆🎉

For some reason I knew it would be Vondroushova after the semifinals (not going into two much detail, but I knew) so I started to think about it closer. And I found it kind of nice and healing. After two major losses (RG, Olympics), her third big final should be a charm. And once upon a time Vondroushova seemed to be destined to be the next big thing when she was in her juniors. Actually I thought it would be her to become the new queen of clay, not Iga, not at least until much later in their careers. But after 2020 everything went astray for Vondroushova and her teens seemed so far away and not relevant any more. I'm happy that she's finally got it. Though clay seems to be better suited for her versatile game. She's still very young and she very much can add some more trophies to her name in between the injury layoffs which she's inevitably has to have through her, one hopes, long and rewarding career. Let's all hope she stays healthy and her wrists don't hold her back too much.

I am very sad for Ons' loss, but a BIG congrats to Marketa. Another page turns in this endless amazing sport.

It was an incredible match. Marketa wanted to win this game more than Ons Jabur and she worked hard to stay in the game. It didn't surprise me at the end because although Ons was superior, Marketa won crucial points. I'd say will power and faith drove her to victory, well done and Congratulation 👏👍
