I've seen this a dozen times and only just noticed the first visual gag: Rowan, the manager of a tech store, is giving a presentation on cue cards with a smart board on the wall immediately behind him.

The development of the "Ronan" character over the years has been amazing. Using him to highlight unspoken cultures and stigmas in society is fascinating.

Hahaaaa this is so funny and accurate. Growing up in the 90s as a girl who liked games was a bizarre experience. I remember playing pokemon red/blue and all the female trainers basically do nothing but either cry or accuse you of indecent assault when you defeat them. It was so frustrating. Pokemon suddenly realized in the early 2000s that girls were actually playing their franchise...they did finally introduce playable female characters but also threw in a bunch of pink and glitter to the series design?!

My wife (PhD chemist) who had been in her group at work for several years was in a meeting when it was announced they were making a new hire, who was also female. One of the guys, sitting right next to her made the comment "Oh good, it will be nice to finally have a woman around here." It amazes me to this day that that man is still alive.

I remember after high school hanging out with a guy while he played a game (I think it was DMC2) and noticed the boss had a movement pattern and couldn’t reach some areas. So after he lost almost a dozen times I asked to give it a try. He seemed confused, but said sure but it’s really hard. Once I got the feel of the control I used the patterns ai observed to kick butt and handed the controller back to him, smirking.
