That's kinda dark since we don't know how vitae is harvested or made. But I think it's more along the lines of someone using/used vitae to help her out. Since she wakes up in different places and her veins don't always show up at those times. The vein thing might be a side effect of the fear juice vitae. Tbh I'm more curious about the doctor and the possible baby poison he gave her.

Yeah I think this games suffers greatly if you are not playing it as a horror game and just rush through it. I recently played the first Amnesia and then this one. And I have to say that this one is MUCH scarier. So reading some of the negative reviews really confuses me. They even tell you at the start of the game that this game is not supposed to be played to win, but for the experience

@@Canal10000 I'm currently playing it at a snail's pace and absorbing everything the game has to offer. I'm about half-way through and am less scared than I was my first-time through the game. That may be my experience, but I also cannot agree for objective reasons. The monsters are heavily scripted, to the point where their ai barely has room to breathe. This is true for the wraiths especially who literally move in circles. They also straight up forget about the player if the player goes to specific areas of the map. These combined make them incredibly easy to observe and learn how they work which is detrimental to horror games. Once the player figures the monsters out, they hold no power in scaring the player. There are a myriad of other reasons this game is just not as scary as Amnesia or Soma. As far as I'm concerned, Rebirth has earned all the negative reviews it's collecting. It's great that it scares you. It's just not what it could be

@@Canal10000 I dunno about that. I had to actively pause the first game to regain my composure. Fixing the lift, going through the red mist with the iron bull, that shit scarred me. Soma on the other hand fucked me up on phylosophical level. Haven't played machine for pigs, and WATCHING this doesn't make me feel in any special way tbh. maybe playing is different. Oh, and Penumbras were dope. Really liked Black Plague.

Okay, the game might have been scarier for me because I barely died. I took it really slow in the dark, barely using my oil lamp or lighting torches. Therefore I never learned how the AI worked in this game and did not know what to expect. And I know about the flaws of the first Amnesia game, for example, not getting hit by the water monster by running and jumping, and that the monster rarely respawns when you die and so on. So I guess I am happy that I was able to play this game without detecting its flaws

@@Canal10000 Monsters not respawning in TDD is thanks to something call rubberbanding. It's a video game design concept where the game will actively adjust the difficulty of the campaign to improve the user experience. This manifests in TDD by torches lighting up after death, and yes, if you die enough times, even de-spawning monsters. This is not a flaw. In fact I've heard tell of a Wraith in Rebirth straight up disappearing after one "death". So if that is true, this criticism is MORE applicable to Rebirth. Not to mention death is basically non-existent in the game. Tasi doesn't die. She kind of freaks out and runs back 100 feet or so, and the monsters don't reset if this "fail state" is triggered if they aren't de-spawned. Typically the devs of horror games should not want you to die. This is because the entire horror experience is everything before the death. So ideally, they would set the game up so you narrowly escape intense situations. This is insanely difficult to do when you're trying to remain discrete about as to maintain immersion, and is something Rebirth fails at at every turn. There are areas the monsters have every means of accessing but the game arbitrarily defines as safe zones where the monster will straight up de-spawn or forget about you. The monsters are so much slower than Tasi that you can literally run circles around them to accidentally find the path forward. The monsters themselves are inconsistent in their behavior. They will randomly scream nonsense at Tasi like "It's taking me!", "I'll get you TASI!" which feel goofy af, like someone who's playing at chasing you, not someone who wants to legitimately kill you. Good horror games don't want you to see the monster much, they don't want you to learn them, because the instant you do, you're capable of countering its quirks. Again, it's fine that they scare you. I'm actually happy for you because my experience was so disappointing, as was so many others'. But please, don't try to justify it as good game design, when it simply isn't in any way
