Actually, this is first time that I hear some girl likes Marco :). I asked that question on one forum, it was almost like a joke, I asked if any of them finds Marco attractive, and all answers were negative and I wondered why. I think it's mostly about beard. In my opinion he's very cool guy, a person I would gladly go to a beer with, even though I don't drink beer. I think he's a good example that people are much more than just a way they look like. A type of friend everyone would like to have.

It was Marko who inspired me to try learning Finnish too! I was already brushing up on German on Duolingo (I'd learned it at school and wanted to get back into it) so added Finnish too and oh boy it was a lot harder! I learned a few basics and actually bumped into a Finnish gatecrasher at a works party and had a bit of a broken part Finnish part English conversation with her much to her surprise (and everyone else around us!) and it absolutely made my night! So glad I did! Even a few basics were better than nothing.

Make that everyone of us. Some in the form of DNA only, though. The lyrics can be interpreted as inheriting memes or both memes and DNA and I think it's the latter interpretation that Marko had in mind while writing the lyrics.

If you seek peace and quiet, then yes.

Peaceful, quiet, very low crime rate. The people are big on personal space though so no one really talks to strangers and sometimes people just sit back and enjoy the silence. If you're planning on a family, the state pays you a monthly support for each child you have, there's both a maternity and a paternity leave, education and school lunch are free. Healthcare is very affordable, unless you want a private clinic you only need to pay for the medicine, and if it's an expensive medicine the cost will also be mitigated by the state. Taxes are based on your income, so if you're super rich you have very high taxes, but if you get minimum wage you also don't have to pay much taxes at all. Basically it's a society that's built on the concept that everyone is equal and should have equal opportunities to pursue their own paths in life. Also, you can get by in Finland with English perfectly well, since everyone gets taught English at school from the 3rd grade onwards.

@@wardeni9603 No, it's not worth coming to Finland. Cold, dark, strangers are bullied. The Finnish people basicly just don't like peoplo who are different. Speaking Finnish is needed if you want to have any hope. Very racist country. Keep far away!

@@alexeirahamov5650 No, not really. At the place I work at there's people from Poland, Ukraine and Russia as well as Finns, and the atmosphere there is great. Every now and then there's some new Russian worker who's a total a-hole against Ukrainians etc. or a Serbian dude with a chip on his shoulder towards Russians, but I've never seen a problem with the locals. Finnish people are just reserved, silent and respect personal space, so they won't come talk to you unless you go talk with them. I guess some people in the eastern parts of the country don't really like Russians though, since many people still remember their parents/grandparents who lost their homes or suffered in the Winter War of 1939.
