Ms. Thomas, I think what your father and yourself have done for St. Jude is just, well, there are no words that I can write that would express the admiration and love that I feel for you both. My nephew is still alive because of your tireless work. Gd bless you, always and forever.

Marlo- this is off topic from the video, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU for "Free to be You and Me"! I was in 1st grade when that came out, and I am 50 years old now. You taught me soo much with that album, that have helped me through life, and I have tried to pass those lessons on to my niece and nephews. Kudos to you, and thank you!!!!!

This helps a woman like me who feels 40 and is turning 60 at the end of 2019, to not feel that life is over. Yea! Currently, both these women are 81 and still going strong. I recommend listening to them be interviewed any time you can simply to see their postive attitudes and survivor attitudes!

I followed JANE BUT DIDN'T TAKE HER ADVICE ON WORK OUT.REGRETFULLY AM PAYING FOR IT NOW!!! 2-25-2024 I do know ladies who are70+ and did the exercise. Etc and look and feel wonderful. Unfortunately for myself. I didn't. I shared this video with many other women; EVENTHOUGH it is 11 years old.

When Jane's autobiography came out, she went to different bookstores across the US & Canada. When I found out she was coming to a Borders (remember those?) a half hour from my house, I got my ass there a few hours early. My mom is a huge fan of the Fonda's and I knew an autographed copy of Jane's book would be the perfect birthday gift. I was near the front of the line, and after a large coffee, I was hoping I wouldn't wet myself. Jane was sitting at a table with some VERY large men near her, for obvious reasons. I was so nervous, I was hoping I wouldn't say something stupid. Well, she couldn't have been nicer, very warm & welcoming. There were people asking for hugs, people asking to her sign all kinds of things. One lady told Jane she loved her hair, Jane thanked her & the woman just reached out and touched it! If Jane was shocked by that, she never let on. I was on automatic pilot by the time I got to her desk. When I told her the book was my mom's birthday present, she asked me how old she would be & how was her health. I told Jane the truth, the she was fighting breast cancer. Maybe Jane thought I looked like I was going to cry, but really I had to pee & I was so nervous my stomach was churning. Well, she stood up & wrapped her arms around me & told me in a comforting voice that she wished my mom the best of luck. Of course, I hugged her back gently. She had a solid upper body, no flabby jiggle on those arms! People who say it's all plastic surgery, well you can buy a solid healthy body. Her face is more beautiful than it appears on screen or in pictures, of course she had wrinkles, but nothing like most women her age. Her eyes seemed to sparkle. she just radiated health. If she has had any face work, it's minimal & was done by a top surgeon. She doesn't look pulled or bizarre like some stars. There were too many people waiting, so this all happened fast. I thanked her & ran to the bathroom. Later on that day a Vietnam vet showed up & actually spit in her face! It was all over the news & I was horrified. He got that close, what if he had had a weapon or attacked her? Very disturbing. She just wiped her face off and continued signing. True grace under pressure.
@Reg50168 жыл бұрын
+Miura Mike There are places for people who spit in someone's face. We all make mistakes and she may have made one with the Vietnam war. However, she has asked everyone's forgiveness FOR YEARS and it is time to move on. We all have to pay for what we do on this Earth. That vet who spat in her face will definitely get his just rewards.
@tranleha14955 жыл бұрын

TRAN LeHa I've heard her speak on it and her regrets over it within the past few years. I get why vets wouldn't like her. But I would think the vet who lives in the past is only cheating themselves from living a good life in the present. What does spitting on an older much wiser Jane really accomplish?

Why isn`t anyone offering to produce Marlo Thomas with her own talk show already !! This ideal of including the viewing audience in on the questions is certainly genuine but also tremendously reflective of this digital age. The approach is refreshing and somehow Miss Thomas makes it all very interesting. And not to forget to mention what she does with the money she earns !! I would love to see this on TV. Although I will watch faithfully on you tube. Anyone know the "live link" for this show? Thank you Marlo Thomas for bringing us people we love to hear from !! Who else would I love to see? Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren - the first three guest episode. People need to hear from them in their own words. Bernie Sanders. People who don`t have the advantage of being in the public eye often, if that makes sense.

Jane Fonda was so young in a Dick Cavette show she did and she was trying to get the word out about a country she went to but I cant remember which one - and how much they were suffering and government policies, etc. She has always been head and shoulders above the rest. She was beyond just an actress - she never let herself be just one thing. Look at her at 80 getting unceremoniously arrested every week for protesting for the environment. She always cared. She always tried to do something. She always put herself out there. A great human being.

As a man, I am embarrassed and ashamed for some of the comments below, especially from men.
