Marlow - the beautiful riverside town in England

Marlow is beautiful and full of history. Many famous people lived in this town too such as Thomas Love Peacock, an English novelist and poet, Jerome K. Jerome, a writer and humourist, best known for the comic travelogue Three Men in a Boat and of course Mary Shelley who wrote the masterpiece of gothic literature - Frankenstein. She finished the famous novel while living in this town.

Great video. I knew Marlow as I was brought up in High Wycombe. The view of the beautiful bridge and church is a classic.

It's the perfect town if you only want to drink expensive coffee because every other shop is now a coffee bar and there are no banks or independent shops because cash bad coffee good

Thanks for showing my town, beautifully filmed! Another famous resident was TS Eliot, he resided in the house that is now Vanilla Pod restaurant in West Street.

I wouldn’t know what areas to avoid as we don’t live in Marlow, only a few minute drive. You could rent a place and as you live in the area you could look around and find a place that’s perfect for you

Marlow is actually not the birthplace of the Paralympics. The bridge in the town acts as the border between Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. The county of Buckinghamshire as a whole is the birthplace of the Paralympics which is why the sign saying 'birth place of the paralympics' is placed next to the bridge.

She lived in Well End which is outside Bourne End east of Marlow along the Thames. Her thatched cottage is down Coldmoorholme Lane. I was a neighbour to the current owners. Possible that she wrote stories based around the whole area
