Slater's footy IQ at it's best here, the way he positions himself to run inside Lockyer is just world class. He's the greatest full back of all time.

In an interview either after the game or the day after Lockyer mentioned that just before that play started, he said to Slater "stay on my insider right shoulder". So Lockyer knew what he was going to do well before it even happened. He was more the genius here and had a class finisher available to him.

Matt Scott was a beast. That run prior to the try was awesome. We talk about the spine coming up with big plays but the big runs by the forwards setting up was just as classy.

0:25 Lockyer's tight line change from unders to overs that disguised billy coming through is all class. His teams always had exquisite set plays when he was at the helm.

Locky is my goat. You can find faults in every players game. You can't fault what locky does for his teamates, his heart, his leadership, his championship mentality and his clutchness. If you have Locky in your team, you are always in with a chance.

It annoys me that the only games on streaming services are from 2018 and up. Basically when the dynasty players departed. These matches were fantastic. The skill. They were close games generally, too. Not often thrashings. Queensland just always had that extra gear that got them home in the end.

Look who touched the ball to give Billy Slater that first try…… Cam Smith passes to JT who passes to Lockyer who passes inside to Slater…….those 4 men alone changed the game of ORIGIN and gave us Queenslanders so many wonderful victories…..the BLUES ultimate OPPOSITION……these 4 men!!
