Appreciated the transparency of the interview. Engaging storytelling. Savant level recall (Names, dates, places, details). Much respect to Gil for allowing MJ to get his stories told without interruption. Josiah did a great job interviewing (per usual) his father, in spite knowing the answers to the questions multiple times over. *random* I have fam that have lived off Inandale for over 50 years.

One of the best. Never saw him play in the league, but see his videos dunking on his birthday every year giving hope. Great story telling, and how it always bring it back to the original question.

Another point forward from back in the day is Mickey Johnson. Played for the Bulls, from The City at that. Went to college with his namesake. Paul Pressey was after Marques Johnson in Milwaukee. Of course Pip might be the most refined and decorated point forward in terms of that role and both sides of the floor.

The REALIST interview I've seen/ heard in a very long time. I remember watching MJ when he was in college , that whole '76 season was amazing my Wolverines, Hoosiers , Bruins, etc. MJ on the Bucks was all world , they played my Pistons often. MJ intelligence mixed with his street knowledge is what I've always liked about him , also he was like the Billy Dee of the NBA back then PAUSE ⏸️ 😄... He really is a HOF , it's long overdue, he's accomplished more than many thar are in the HOF

You hear how important Marques took his shooting percentage in shooting ball? That's what I mean when I tell people these guys in todays game don't care about shooting percentages and that is the difference from a good shooter to a great shooter.

This man should be in the HOF for his numbers AND for keeping his NBA experience 100!! Not many players would tell the story of his teammate being a pimp WHILE in the NBA!! MJ is my new favorite OG.

He was my favorite player. As he said in his book, "he had vaseline on his reflexes", he was so smooth. One of my partners in the Army was from Racine, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee. He told me M.J. had the ladies on both arms when he came into the clubs.

Marques is a legend. Should've been rookie of the year over Otis Birdsong. MJ's memory is incredible! Kareem did break his hand on that much deserved Benson punch.

Marques spoke about the Kareem Sucker punch on Kent Benson. Of course, an elbow is not nice and wrong. They happen. One can say that such is part of the game. I do not justify them. However, what Kareem did was cowardly and evil. Kareem came up behind Benson -- and Marques admits that he heard it, it was so violent -- and cracked Benson's skull in the face as he stealthily approached Benson from behind. Speak the truth -- Kareem's action was the most low grade act I have ever seen in basketball. But it is Kareem. If anyone gets preferential treatment it is Kareem Marques whines about Benson being white. Guess what? Kareem is not white. And he got away with almost killing a player. Again, I do not justify what Benson did. However, that does not justify what Kareem did. And one of the fellows jokes that the fine was "$40". The colloquy manifests that these guys admit that Kareem got away with murder with nary a repercussion. Kareem could have killed the guy. Furthermore, Kareem, the coward, did a similar act to Dan Schayes. He jumped on him from behind on something that had nothing to do with Kareem. Schayes was struggling with Magic. And Kareem jumps on Schayes -- FROM BEHIND . And that is what he did to Benson -- he punched him in the face when Benson was not even looking. (The point is that he attacks people from behind) And Kareem got away with it. Kareem has a pattern of being a coward. Very sad. Kareem was a great player, for sure. And that is why he got away with acts that manifest low character and cowardliness. Benson did not get a preference -- Kareem did. Kareem is a coward. So much for the chatterbox talk about Benson being white. He is. He received no special treatment -- Kareem did.
