100% agree on really analyzing your job and asking yourself what service you're providing. Frquently people don't like their job because they don't like the actions they're required to take for their job (making calls, dealing with customers, writing emails, etc). However, I believe that the deeply rooted dissatisfaction comes from either your work not providing a positive service to others (perhaps a government job) or a person not understanding the value and service they are providing
