In my pre-Muslim life, I dated a man who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident before we met. It wasn’t meant to be between us, but his disability wasn’t a problem for me. If something happened to my husband, I would stand by him and help him until my dying breath. This life is too short. When I look at all that’s happened so far, I truly feel that life is Allah’s test of our faith.

I honestly thought about it. I as a woman would accept someone who is disabled but if everythingelse fits well. So when his character, Aqeedah, religion etc. is on point and we are attracted to each other, then why not? I mean I think it is hardly to find someone who almost has everything you like and at some point marrying someone disabled can turn out into a blessing which could grant someone even Jannah.

Alhumdulilah I have the pleasure of being married to a disabled man, this has been the best thing that has happened to me by Allahs mercy. My husband survived a stroke at a young age (26) and deserved to continue his life by Allahs plan and so for me this meant that I too believed that I wanted to be a part of that journey. I married him with the knowledge that the limited mobility in his hand, arm and leg would be a lifelong disability, nonetheless we have been beyond blessed in our union. Ultimately Allah knows best.

I think it really depends on what kind of disability we're talking about. Especially people with mental disability (maybe far below average IQ) or people with SEVERE physical disabilities, like missing all limbs would be a bit more difficult. If we are talking about some less severe disabilities like missing one hand, one leg or something like that, where the person is still able to do most of their every day activities and only require help occasionally or where the 'only' problem is physical attraction, then I guess this would be a different topic.

I have always been attracted to disabled people (not sexually) or people that i know that has been through a lot of challenges in life. It gave me a natural sense of closeness with them, its hard to explain but the feeling is similar to when you meet with someone you respect or someone that went through hardship similar to your own. I have 2 psychiatric conditions, Autism and Bipolar. I can be brutally honest, at times. I require someone who also has a high IQ, like myself. I would marry someone with mild psychological disabilities, like myself, so long as it does not affect fertility. Many Autistic men are high earners, due to a high IQ level. I also require a high IQ male, as my IQ level is high and women prefer men with similar or higher IQ levels. I'm more attracted to a male's IQ, even when his appearance is below average.

Most of muslimah i talked with never get along with me because im not able to communicate or control my temper when i feel emotions . . Even if a muslimah want to marry me , i cant get married in front of people or visit her family out of panic , and that's big red flag for the sisters so they stop responding to me . Every ramadan is worst because my temper and emotions takes over when im not eating , i become very bad so i stopped fasting after the first 3 days . I don't whats the plan of Allah there but whatever man. I would prefer to become a disbeliever with a normal life than this. Im leaving hell on earth and I know im going to hell in judgement too.

A man, who can teach me more about the deen for example. A man, that I can have interesting conversions with, who I can look up to, and who is able to lead his family with his clear intellect. Good question, it’s not something I really thought about in all honesty as a young unmarried man. Like, I myself have autism - it was pretty bad as a kid but in present day, currently in my early 20s, you wouldn’t know I have it unless I told you or if you’ve lived with me for a couple of years. Although that’s not to say I’m cured from it - I still retain quirks from it, it’s just that I can better manage them on my own now alhumdulillah - there is of course the very rare occasion where my family does need to step in for my own sake. Now that I think about it, that is something I would need to tell someone who’s interested in marrying me - while I do and can get along with different people alhumdulillah, this trait of mine is something that could be passed down to my children, and whether they have it mildly like I do or have it worse off, Allahuaalam. Anyway - I would like to think that growing up with autism (hence always being an odd one out one way or another - it’s less depressing than it sounds dw) that I could sympathize with someone who has a mental or physical disability, perhaps even come to love them. I think so long as we can have a healthy relationship in terms of Deen, romance, and sexually then it’ll be fine insha’allah.

Capability is one of the key factors women and their families look into when selecting a husband. There is absolutely nothing blameworthy about that. As such, as you mentioned, it's only natural that a disability will be a major impediment to accepting a man as a husband. For men, as long as the disability is not unsightly - meaning something that detracts from her physical beauty - a disabled woman still has good chances in the marriage market. Men will be much more likely to overlook such things, especially if she brings other things to the table (deen, looks, family, money).

Depends what it is. Like if you weren’t physically disabled but got injured later on in life then no you’re kids won’t inherit it cause it’s not genetic, you weren’t born with it. Something like Autism on the other hand, which is genetic, yes they can - if not your kids then even your grandkids can have it because of yourself.

@mishaalkisan1688

@@hussainsharmin661 For example - if someone was born able-bodied but later in life recieved significant damage to their leg to a point where they forever need a walking cane or are wheelchair bound then their kids won't inherit that since - like I said - they weren't born with a crippled leg. Another example is your typical amputee - people who's lost a limb later in life - their kids will otherwise be born able-bodied because that's how both parents were originally born and lived. The only way a physical injury would have an effect on your children is if said injury also damages your DNA somehow (ie. radiation poisoning) or your treatment for that injury affects your DNA and/or sex cells (Sperm/Eggs).

It would depend on the nature of the disability and how much it would affect life. For example if somebody wanted to have children, they would be concerned about any genetic disabilities being inherited. If somebody was completely dependent on you to do anything this would be difficult. For example you might need to work and can't be there for them 24/7. Maybe it costs alot of money to cater to and treat their disability. Maybe they can't have intimacy with each other due do the disability. If the person was able to function mostly independently I don't think most people would mind. Like maybe they are blind from one eye or deaf in one ear. Lost a hand/finger, has a prosthetic leg/foot. You can still function at 90% independence levels. At least from a male perspective, I don't think most would mind taking a disabled woman as a 2nd wife if he had the resources. But sometimes disabled persons may have a perspective on life that one may deem attractive.

It depends on the disability and how the woman still takes care of herself. Their mindset as well. If it is a brain tumor or something with how they function mentally, I would not. If she had no legs and was born like that, I would think about it if the rest of her was fine and she was good in the dean. Also, if she is still able to be functional to a degree. Like if she can move around, if she can lift things still, if she can cook somewhat with assistance then it wouldn't be as much of an issue. Bless the people who can be patient with it. Its definitely not easy.
