Hi, I will use the skates as a inline-hockey referee. I am also an ice-hockey referee and for 4 months a year I will officiate inline and ice hockey at the same time. Which model (R1 or O1) would you recommend for me?

Definitely go with the 01. It's the easiest to transition to and from ice. The r1 is designed for roller hockey but the 01 will be perfect for a referee. Good luck and let us know if we can help. The Sharp Shack on Instagram or Facebook.

I hope this question makes sense. They call the 01 the off ice trainer, is there a reason they aren't promoting the R1 as an off ice trainer? I will use them primarily for office training so I would think the lighter R1 would be the better option as long as it give the same on ice experience. Any thoughts would be great.

It's less locking and a little more fixed then the o1. When on the o1 the "skate board bushing setup" gives your feet, legs and core a workout. The R1 has less rocking motion and focuses more on the roller hockey aspect and mimics a properly profiled set of ice skates. The 01 really forces you to work on posture, balance, and body positioning. Hope this helps if not look us up and give us a call!!

Great Vid and explanation. I do have a question though. If my feet have bunions and side growth on both feet 9due to improper sizing of skates when young) do you reckon its ok to stick with the original mars boot section or to use a hockey brand based one( bauer, ccm,etc...) and stick a mars holder.

It's always better if you can use the best fitting/most comfortable boot available, even used will do just fine

I might be the only person interested in these set ups for recreational outdoor roller blading but as a former roller hockey player I just enjoy using inline blades over recreational blades. Which set up would you recommend for me looking to take these out on some paved trails? Also are their boots any good or should I get different boot to mount these chassis to? Thanks for this great video by the way

The boots are nice after baking, but I stock offer and install just the frame kits.

Thinking about picking up a set of the R1 to slap on an ice boot. How much weight difference would you guess there is between the R1 and a typical HiLo chassis?

Standard chassis is 4.8 oz ish Marsblade 01 is 12.2 I'll weigh the r1 tonight for you

Great video! I've been debating which version I want to get for a while. They both essentially do the same thing correct? I would love to get the new version because it looks like it's better quality, durability, and weight. Does the o1 replicate ice better, or are they the same in that respect?

The 01 has more of a smooth rocker feel to its think of the feeling on a skateboard. Smooth flowy...great training tool. The R1 is great. It gives you amazing stability faster and more responsive maneuvers. Its definatly weighted more to the roller hockey player more so then the 01 which is more ice player looking to stay fresh.

@@bosstankproductions1304 it's dependent on the insert. But comparatively it's there yes, but drastically less.
