We recorded this 4k ultra hd video during our trip to Marseille, France on July 2020.
Marseille is the second largest city in France, covering an area of 241 km2 (93 sq mi) and had a population of 870,018 in 2016.
Founded around 600 BC by Greek settlers from Phocaea, Marseille is also the oldest city of France, and one of Europe's oldest continuously inhabited settlements. It was known to the ancient Greeks as Massalia and to Romans as Massilia.
Marseille has been a trading port since ancient times. Grand Port Maritime de Marseille is now the first French port, the second Mediterranean port and the fifth European port.
Our guided walking tour is about 1.86 miles (3 km) long, starts at Prefecture of Bouches-du-Rhône, ends at Marseille Old Town (Le Panier) and covers most attractions and historic sites of Marseille.

Marseille is the French Naples in France in similarity, the sun ☀️ , beach 🏝 , the small streets of the city center, hot atmosphere, many fans of city club (OM) Olympique de Marseille, honestly it’s a beautiful city.

Désolé mais c'est Béziers qui est dorénavant la plus vieille ville de France. Ce titre a pu être donné à la suite de fouilles archéologiques au centre de la ville bâtie sur un promontoire. Béziers passe ainsi devant Marseille, 600 avant J.-C., deux fossés défensifs et une citerne datant de - 625 ayant été découverts.... Quoiqu'il en soit Marseille sera toujours unique ;)

Desole, Marseille est face aux Baléares 🇪🇦. Marseille ressemble beaucoup à plusieurs villes de la côte italienne 🇮🇹, l'Espagne et l'Italie étant plus proches de Marseille et les îles Baléares juste en face de la ville (voir une carte).

Marseille is very similar to several cities on the Italian coast 🇮🇹, with Spain and Italy being the closest to Marseille and the Balearic Islands just in front of the city (see map).

@@KayKapone1 It is. And yet, I went there twice, and I loved it. The neighborhoods with delinquency are far from the city center. France as a whole remains a secure country.

Je remercie les gens qui ont filmés ma ville avec amour.Paris est la plus belle ville du monde mais n a pas d'âme. Marseille plus beau port du monde.ville extraordinaire.sale oui comme toute la France.et pour les critique.c est la pandémie et 40 au soleil qui font fuir les gens.sinon ça grouille de monde.toutble temps.ca c est l Année dernière.auj.les gens sont moins dociles. Vive Marseille et la Bonne Mère. I am in Paris, and I see that the center of Marseille is a thousand times better kept than Paris. Very little grafitti and basically 0 garbage on the streets...It used to be the other way around!

Where on earth did the Ferris wheel disappear from the Old Port? It was a landmark of the Old Port and a place of memories... If it's demolished, it's too bad. from Daegu, South Korea

(As I writing I haven't watched all the video yet) the 'ferry boat', as we call it in Marseille, is still working :) even during quarantine, we get less ride but, it's still help us cross the port, so no worries ^^

Really useful video again. Glimpses of the great history of Marseille & some pretty squares. However the problems of the city are clear to see with the graffiti & run down areas. The most dreadfully neglected city in France. Feels like Naples in many ways. I’ll be avoiding on the basis of this real time video. Thanks again.

Very few people know that if the Old Port is mostly surrounded by relatively new buildings, it's because Nazis dynamited a big part of this district in 1943. The reason is that for them, this place was like a kind of nest for all the scum of the time (Underground, traffickers, mob, etc...)

Marseille c'est la banlieue d'Alger, il suffit d'aller au marché Noailles, bd d'Athènes et Canebiere, cette marche a du se faire en Aout , quand tous sont en vacances .

Filmé en juillet 2020, au cas où vous ne le sauriez pas, une petite pandémie a envahi le monde et malgré cela, la ville n'a jamais autant attiré de touristes durant l'été dernier...

Why ? The quality of life in cities like Nice, Aix, Annecy, or Bordeaux is amazing. Good weather, sea and mountains around, beautiful architecture, vibrant nightlife, good food, friendly people...
