I've owned three catboats ( two of them Marshalls) over the past forty years, taught my kids to sail on them, enjoyed countless days of fun and adventure. I'm seventy three now, have just sold my 42' ketch, and am itching to find another Sanderling knowing that I can continue to get out on the water and confident that even at my age, I can single-hand her with confidence. I live in the Pacific Northwest and cat boats out here are a rare sight and when I come upon a catboat owner we share a discreet nod and a wink!!

After a recent hip replacement I hope to enjoy a 3rd season with Blew By You, a 1972 completely restored Sanderling with custom cockpit... sit or sleep under the dodger!

Regarding MARKLINMAN 1 The Sanderling is very stable but you need to be aware of lugging ie too much sail up with a brisk wind behind...it will fight to windward. At least mine does! At 250 some odd sq. ft. it is one BIG sail. Reef(I run one jiffy reef to the cockpit) or just motor! Also, I installed cam cleats for the main/peak lines as well as the lazy jacks. Makes hauling much easier & also easing up on the jacks on the leeward side of the sail is much quicker.

Is this a good boat for a beginner to learn to sail on? They look really really really nice. Great video.

Do you offer trailers? Also, any idea of shipping options to Melbourne Australia? Thanks in advance.

Might I ask does the Marshall 22 have a head and sink, or can they have one installed? Many Thanks!
