Never really put much thought into the saying, “there is a fine line between brilliance and insanity.” (Or whatever the quote is) until marss brought up how plays are put in 200iq plays when they hit but 0iq when they don’t

Even then, I think there's a pretty visible divide. Some of the stupid hail-mary plays here would be seen as desperate last-ditch gambles if they were done while you're at 150% and the opponent is at 20%, and if it didn't work out people would still understand why you went for them. But like all of these were done while in huge advantage and/or while the opponent was nowhere NEAR getting hit by the play!
