As fun as Kirby dair is to hit, its basically a down b shrouded by how cool it feels which competitors use that don't main the character thinking its good. Most of its uses can be done just as well by use fair, which has much quicker start up and more reliably strings into what you want to follow up with. Ever if you're using it off stage to spike your opponent, more often than not you're actually better pushing them further from the ledge with nair or bair, or dragging them down a bit and pushing them away from the ledge with fair, or honestly just trying to ledge trap them because Kirby's air speed is shit so he's high key not a good edgeguarder against most characters in a good portion of situations. If you want a nasty Kirby, you only use dair if you wanna look particularly swaggy or if you know exactly where an opponent is going to be and sending them directly down is objectively the best option like against DK. The only other option for it I can think of that isn't done better by something else is shield poking with an aerial, so maybe using it as an occasional crossup when their shield is low.

It’s integral to certain combo routes but not as a combo starter. If they’ve exhausted their second jump you can easily chain dairs together until you’re sure they can’t up b the distance they need to. Exceptions being invincible up b like marth of Mario. In those matchups you threaten dair spike and when they try to recover low using kirby’s stone completely negates their invincibility on startup and usually kills if they’re in red percent.

@@emceegrammar Clearly I'm not a Kirby main, however the way that Marss is using it is as a combo starter which is how every non Kirby main uses it.
