I remember in Germany after Cherry 🍒 picking. It was my cousin and my job to pit them. "We had a lot of cherries." During pitting we would go one for the bowl and pop two in our mouths. Always ending up with a belly ache before finishing & many more cherries to go.

🍒 Martha Stewart Sour Cherry Pie Pie Crust 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour ¼ cup + 1 tbsp water 1 teaspoon salt 1 stick of butter For the filling 21 oz can of Cherry Pie filling or 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, 1 cup sugar 3 cup frozen sour cherries 1 tablespoon lemon juice 2 Tbsp flour 1 large egg, lightly beaten with 2 tablespoons heavy cream, for egg wash, cutt cherry size holes in top crust for garnish of dour cherry 375 F for 30 to 45 minutes

Martha let me give you a tip I found in my old southern living cookbook add 2/3 cup or a little more of grenadine to the mix this recipe calls for cooking the filling in saucepan on stove top before adding to crust other than that the recipe is basically the same try it you’ll like it

I love grenadine syrup, but doesn’t it make the filling super sweet? I’ve actually never made a pie before, and I’m 75!! But the crust, and the way she works it and puts it in the pie p,ate, looks pretty simple,and I love cherry pie, so I may try this one! Her recipe calls for fresh sour cherries, which aren’t always easy to find. Can I use frozen? Thank you! Isn’t Martha terrific! Been a big fan of hers for years.

the glass wont shatter after being frozen for 20 min and then suddenly put into a hot oven? I know some of the baking glass can handle temperature fluxs but that seems sudden.

I have a question about a special kind of pie crust I can’t seem to find e recipe for; what the British call a rough crust. They use it to make pasties. It’s neither short nor hot water - and I know it has something to day with using leftover pastry from the previous day. You and your team have such an astonishing base of knowledge - do you lovely people have any idea of where I could find this recipe. Google is not forthcoming.😔🙏🏻😊
