Agreed! But Shephard was priceless in that role. I still dig Martha, though. Wouldn't want to work for her, of course. And her laughter with Grodin here is among the fakest I've ever heard. Cum on, Martha. U can do better.

Note how Martha takes his story and makes it all about herself, then keeps interrupting him and going back to herself. Maybe "Martha, Inc" wasn't so far off.

The movie was enticing and flattering to Martha . Martha might be a queen in housekeeping problems but she is a bad movie critic .

Martha, your critique of Cybill's performance is biased as she was great as you. ...And if my memory is correct' nowhere in the movie do I remember Cybill portraying you "recycling wine" after guests drank half.

She actually roasted herself. Everyone likes Cybill. But here she comes off as mean-spirited, petty and bitter. I've always found there to be an "insincere" quality to Martha. Cybill actually played her too nicely.

The movie was actually kind to Martha because it left out many horrifying incidents that appeared in the book. Cybill was also skillful enough to imbue her characterization of Martha with subtle humour and wit. In the book, Martha cones off as a joyless, humorless sociopath.

The movie was based on a book written by a trashy tabloid artist with false stories from a disgruntled ex business partner and a back stabbing best friend.

@@aquajack16 Not ‘Martha Inc’. You’re thinking of the other book written before it called ‘Just Desserts’ which was written by a tabloid reporter. ‘Martha Inc.’ was written by a reputable journalist and long time acquaintance of Martha Stewart who did extensive research and interviews and provides exhaustive citations. ‘Just Desserts’ was gossipy dish. ‘Martha Inc.’ was well researched and well documented.

Is so weird how people keep buying Martha's products when the woman is so transparently bitter and petty. She was charming when she could take a joke on Letterman back in the day, but petty isn't cute from someone of her stature. Remember when she came for Rachael Ray when Rachael was still a fresh faced food network star? How insufferable.

I thought the movies were crap and Shepard's performance was as campy as Faye Dunaway's in Mommie Dearest, HOWEVER don't blame the actor, Martha. Had Cybill not play her, a lesser known actress would have and the hypocrisy here is, Martha went on to do The Apprentice as well as plug her product line and appear regularly on The Today Show after her release from prison, so her indignation only extended to Cybill rather than the network that was responsible for both projects.

Charles grodin and cybill had a one night stand. That s why he is pissed. I don t get why SHE is pissed. She played her, so? She didn t wrote the movie or produced, so what kind of no sense rant is that, about the wine and all ?? So now the actors are responsible for the dialogue or tge scenes ???

Because she is the focus of the whole production. That's why Martha's pissed. And cybill played it so over the top with Martha's bitchiness and few if any redeeming qualities. But it was funny as all hell. Relax, lady, and have some fun with it.
