2 жыл бұрынThe Martin custom shop 0000 has proven to be a very popular custom for us. The larger body size delivers a big sound with very clear Bass response. The short scale and slightly thinner body depth make this a very playable guitar. We went with something a little different with this particular guitar, we specified a cutaway body design Also features our standard MV specs including a thinner top (.105"), Short 24.9" scale, Genuine Mahogany 12/4 neck and nut on angle.

A famous musician once told me he felt the M-36 body style was the most balanced tone of any Martin and perfect for recording. He may be right!

During the demo you can hear Quentin mutter, “it’s big…” hehehe. Thanks for all the great vids! Unfortunately this specific guitar has really rocked me. I usually feel nothing, except occasional d-18 lust, but now I feel “I want a short scale mahogany 0000 before I die”! Yikes. Unintended consequence of viewing…

That featured instrument has an impressively loud resonance and a wonderful sustain while being quite articulate (all the notes are easily heard) as opposed to it being "muddy" (the notes are less distinguishable). It will please whoever winds up with it and anyone fortunate to play it.

Best one I’ve heard for awhile. The M-36 Always interested me and with the changes made makes it a singer/songwriters dream come true. Quinton played an assortment of styles and it and the 0000 made them all sound inspirational. Anytime I feel this way about one I’m always afraid to look at the price. Rated 5 star 🌟

I love my GPC all solid ovangkol( I was always just curious about wood y it’s been almost a year now…actually the fretboard dots bit round dots ❤…to have skipped the dread Gibby…the OM28 y D28 I had touched but they were locked among the Hummingbirds etc…but finally got the OM 28 a month ago)

I tried one of Gruhn’s 0000-18 Sinker Mahogany guitars, but I was needing a smaller body due to shoulder issues. In fact, I walked in the store in a sling that I was using part time. I ended up with an OM. The sinkers sounded and looked great, but that body was too much for me. Nice playing, as usual.

The 0000 and 000/OM have the same body depth. Surprised it was too much because of that. I know people say that about Dreadnought cuz they are deep body (and Martin Jumbos are deep body). Glad you got one that works for you!

Would’ve been good as a long scale as well. More options for alternate tunings.

Super cool! I was in Bozeman a few weeks back, played this guitar, loved it but didn't have the coin at the time... Went home and sold my j-45 and some other stuff, and bought it last week :-) it gets delivered tomorrow! Really is a special instrument and is super comfy to play. They have a custom shop short scale m-36 in rosewood that was also great for anyone interested!

@@michaelaiello9525 J-45 is drier/mellower sounding and a little quieter... J-45 also has faster decay and is more compressed. This 0000 gives my custom shop D-18 a run for it's money... it's a shockingly full/loud guitar!

@@quintonking9960 Thanks for all you do in helping get these videos out Quinton! I am very blessed... I played it for about an hour last night before bed and the tone and playability are just insane... Punches well above it's weight class, that's for sure! I was baffled at how it kept up with my dreads, and in some cases actually surpassed them.

Great playing as always Quentin, and wow what a guitar, Question for you: I like playing with a thumb pick but I find strumming with it to be really difficult. Any secret or tips?

Yeah, thumbpick for fingerpicking, then I need to switch to a regular pick for strumming and leadwork etc.. I keep thinking that a thinner thumbpick is the solution.

@@michaelaiello9525 if I have the name correct, they sell what looks like a typical pick on a spring loaded thumb clip. A variety of sizes and gadgets. It might work for both needs. I have watched to try them myself

How would you compare it to a D-18, Quinton? Seems to lack some subtlety....

I know I'm not Quinton, but I'm the new owner of this guitar and also have a custom shop D-18. It is actually closer then you would expect. The 0000's attack is a bit more immediate and has a slightly different EQ curve then a D-18 - little more upper mids and "clearer" lows, but a little less "sub bass" or "thud" but still VERY full and warm... especially with the thinner body. I'm actually shocked at how much power this 0000 has compared to it's dread brethren. It does not sound like a OM thickness guitar - it has 90-95% of the volume and power of my D-18, but is maybe 25-35% more comfortable to play. Very special guitars!

Hi Gregory - what Dean said :) I think this guitar can roar or purr depending on what the player wants - sweet and down low or loudly asking to speak to the manager - this one can do it all!

I totally agree with you,I used to be a strictly Martin man,Not no more,I remember my dad telling me one time your only buying the name there's a lot better guitars out there I finally found out he was right,I own several guitars and seven are high end Taylors I have Martin guitars too,But I prefer Taylors over Martin guitars and I also like Guilds,I went looking for a new Martin guitars and walked out with a 914 ce Taylor and I love love love this guitar.
