I met Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., February 11, 1962, at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, L.A. Ca. I was a member of the Junior Choir. I got the opportunity to shake his hand and greet him to our church. I shall never forget the name of his speech, "A knock at Midnight." MLK Jr. was 33 while I was 15 yrs. old. I was so moved after hearing his speech that I started tuning into his broadcast on radio station KGFJ, AM, 1230 kHZ. I just loved his metaphors and parallels presented. We always considered him a twentieth century Moses, His father was a Baptist minister and also his grandfather. I look forward to seeing him again at Resurrection. John 5:28, 29

martin Luther was the greatest con artist ever. he did nothing for the half million black farmers, when he meet with the of king sweden and when he meet with other european leader. not one deal was struck to ship what, peanuts, cotton, etc. every white person knows a country economic once rested on agriculture. his lack of economic fortitude neglected to help the brave brothers and sisters which returned to africa in the early 1800's, whom founded the great country of liberia, with food stuff and with expertise of sciencist, doctors, chemists, etc. produced at so many outstanding black colleges. all our beautiful, talented black children continue to fall further behind because of his bull&%@# dream. what a overrated man. i can go on. i leave you with this: kjv jeremiah 23: 25-27. the entire chapter is about false prophets.

@@lucindiagalloway8601 do you really blame this man and do you really blame integration for the the reason "we as melanated people can't achieve"? Look for Kings speech in Philadelphia to black middle School Children entitled something like "Blue Prints". He calls for black folk like me to embrace our ethnicity AND achieve excellent regardless what we do. We would do well to pay attention to such a message.

@@lucindiagalloway8601 Intsgration then was not the integration of today. Integration then was inclusion. Integration today is assimilation. Civil rights are connected to human right. You can't achieve human rights for black people globally if black people don't even have civil rights nationally and locally. It was necessary to achieve civil rights and integration as a first goal toward full freedom and equality. No black movement or black leader is to blame for the continuation of white supremacy. White America worked against any black movement that was efficient and created positive and beneficial results for black people.

@@dellcox9124 What Dr. King is referring to is the reality that American Descendents of Slavery, today identified as ADOS, are right here living in America because we are born here and are in fact American citizens as defined by the 14th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, thus we, ADOS, are documented. There was a notion at one point from various movements and groups that we, ADOS should leave the United States of America which is our homeland and go to the continent of Africa or some other nation if we don't like how we are being treated in America. Dr. King is stating that white Americans who are opposed to our presence in America who want to continue to oppress us further so that we are pushed out of here, that strategy is NOT going to work! In fact, we have much too much invested here to leave this nation that our ancestry has paid for with their lives, blood, sweat, and tears to consider a mass exodus from the United States of America by American Descendents of Slavery. ADOS are here to stay! He further declared that we, ALL of the citizens of the United States of America must learn how to live here in America, together. Any questions?

martin Luther was the greatest con artist ever. he did nothing for the half million black farmers, when he meet with the of king sweden and when he meet with other european leader. not one deal was struck to ship what, peanuts, cotton, etc. every white person knows a country economic once rested on agriculture. his lack of economic fortitude neglected to help the brave brothers and sisters which returned to africa in the early 1800's, whom founded the great country of liberia, with food stuff and with expertise of sciencist, doctors, chemists, etc. produced at so many outstanding black colleges. all our beautiful, talented black children continue to fall further behind because of his bull&%@# dream. what a overrated man. i can go on. i leave you with this: kjv jeremiah 23: 25-27. the entire chapter is about false prophets.

@@Nationof9 No need to go on repurposing scripture for your created myth since you speak like MLK was a president or politician when he functioned more in a 'prophetic' capacity, drawing on the very scripture you bastardize to make an argument for false prophets (see Amos 5:24). Give me one example of a prophet in the Hebrew Bible who made deals with Kings? MLK was no 'royal court prophet." He was a man, in a lineage of black preachers, calling a nation to repentance. Oh, and when I see you in the path of a bullet, like King, then your critique of MLK will mean something to me. Finally, and I say this from experience, the problem I have with you "BLK Hebrews" is you're not teachable (Proverbs 18:17).

Being an Atlanta native, I’ve always held this sense of pride that MLK jr. was from the same city heart I hold to be hOMe. This beacon of social revolution Was gone too soon but his legacy and messages echo on & ripple through our new paradigm rising. I’m feeling Grateful for the existence of peacemakers & changemakers. While I was traveling through India I heard stories of MLK’s pilgrimage to meet with Gandhi-who was a major change maker in India’s revolution from British empire. MLK was greatly influenced by yogic teachings of Gandhi & drew his plans for nonviolent protest and marches from the east to west. Tomorrow (MLK day) is a day to celebrate international brotherhood & sisterhood. Message your loved ones in far away lands and remind them that peace can exist if we choose to envision another way of being.
