The first video from a Sept. 2017 visit to the Northern Minnesota cabin. The supplies are hauled in and the Gray Jays get some needed attention.

It took them a few days to finally realize I was not a threat. One of those jays is going to be an interesting companion. It did not like the pancake the last day and dropped it back into my hand and gave me a good peck.

TheNorthwoodsman1 if I may say, I think the popularity of your videos is down to your simple and uncomplicated way of doing things, but taking the time during your various projects, to explain how and why your doing it, makes you want to get out and have a go yourself!!

Thank you Martin. I enjoy your wonderful videos very much. I look forward to every new video as it comes out. I like seeing your cabin and all that you do to keep it in such good condition. I'd love to have a cabin like yours. I like it in the winter when it looks so cosy inside and all the seasons for the scenery. I'm still young but I hope to be able to get my own cabin and land in that area when, and if, I can. I would enjoy the peacefulness of Nature away from the crowds.

Glad to see you back! Of all the various videos I enjoy on KZfaq, yours I enjoy most. Your method of filming is great as it almost seems we are there with you. I also enjoy the woods down here at home, and the solitude and peace that comes with them. But don't have a place like yours. Wish I did. But if I did, I most likely would stay there all the time. A simple lifestyle is the best. The area of your cabin is rich in history and wild life. Hope you post many more videos. Thanks for doing these.

@permaculturedandfree24486 жыл бұрын
John Gerson me too..how did Proenneke make money..?
@johngerson73356 жыл бұрын
+Johnny Smith That's a good question. With his lifestyle, I doubt that he needed much in the way of cash except to purchase his provisional needs like sugar, flour/meal, coffee, and spices. I'd suspect that he bartered for some of that, and maybe that he had some cash savings before he "walked in" for good. Just speculation on my part though...
