I'm a dad of the sweetest 6 year old girl and I play this song all the time. I've always wanted to share it with her mom but that's another story for another day. Great song if you got a daughter. It's so true

As the mom with (several) teenage daughters and fosterlings, I really like this song. My girls are creative, civil, sensible, loyal, brave, strong, and generous: real ladies. So proud of you! They are also popular, brilliant, beautiful, and talented. Where did THAT come from?!? You are amazing, ladies. It's an honour, pleasure and priviledge to be your Mom and watch you grow up.

Mine had 4 teen girls.. at once. Ranging from 12 to 17. I dont know how our dad survived living with 5 females whose cycles tended to sync up. In a 2 bedroom house at that..

If only our teenage daughters really understood that we really love them and we are not trying to ruin everything or keep them from having fun, we just really want the best for them... I guess that's better than not caring at all...

Ethan C As a teenage daughter, believe me I know my parents love me and just want what's best for me. Even though their rules and nagging can sometimes be overwhelming, I know it comes from a loving place. I also know what a pain in the ass I can be, so I definitely give them credit for putting up with my teenager rebellious attitude and behavior. I honestly don't know if I'll ever have the patience to raise a teenage daughter, or teenage son for that matter. We're all pretty difficult at times, but we really do appreciate and love our parents
@coopforever9 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I also guess that in the teen world today, social media has exploded! I remember being a teen around the year '2000, and we never had my space or facebook. In fact the internet was just coming around. I agree with you too, not sure how I could raise a teen daughter either, lol we would probably be butting heads all the time!

Ethan Cooperrider I am a “little” older than you, and oh man did this song hit the nail on the head!! I get it now. Teenage daughters giving me back what I gave my Mom around 1980 something!! And I do hope they realize how very much I love them, even though I always seem to be the bad guy!!

It was a blast seeing her in concert and she can be quite the entertainer... Especially this classic
@brucewayne2155Ай бұрын
This isn't a classic lol. It was released in 2011. That's hardly a classic. And if you think 13 years ago is long enough ago to determine a classic, then you must be pretty damn young yourself. Also, in the music world, a song has to be 20 years old to first be considered a classic, and 35 years old to be considered an oldies. Fun fact: some radio stations will consider a song an oldies song at 30 years old, but can't technically be labeled as, or call themselves an oldie station, if they only play songs that are 30 years old or newer. In order to be listed as an oldies station with the Federal Communications Commission, (FCC) a majority of the music that the radio station plays, (51% or more) must be 35 years old, or older. As to where a majority of the music played (51%) must be 20 years old, or older, (up to 35 years old) to be considered a classic station. And if they are a station that plays a mixture of music, like some country, some rock, some classic rock or country, or both, some oldies, some blues, some pop, etc, then they. Have to play an equal percentage of all genres, to be called a mixed radio station. So in the scenario I wrote, that would be seven (7) genres that the radio station plays. So in order for the FCC to allow them to keep the status of a mixed station, or a billboards top 100 throughout the decades station, they would have to play an EQUAL 14.29% of each genre, all the time. And if they played 14.29% of all of them, except two, and played 10.00% of one genre, but played 18.58% of, let's say, classic rock, (which would be the 14.29%, plus the additional 4.29% they took from another genre) they'd have to be listed as a Classic Rock station with the FCC, and would have to advertise as a classic rock station. Meaning any radio morning game shows they have for people to play where they can win concert tickets to see concerts for free, would all have to be classic rock based. As it is a federal law, that is mandated and monitored by the FCC, that all radio stations in the USA, that have games and contests that result in free prizes, must give out prizes (i.e. concert tickets, free albums, etc.) corresponding to the genre of music that the radio station predominately plays, and is registered with the FCC to play. Failure to do so can result in fines up to $250,000.00, for every prize given out that violates the law, as well as the radio station could either lose their licensing through the FCC and be given a life ban, or not be allowed to renew their broadcasting license at the end of the eight (8) years that they (including renewals) are good for. So there's some fun facts for the day for you!!! Now you can say you learned something new today. You can pull that information out at parties and get together's next time you're at either one. I guarantee someone will find it interesting, and a woman will hit on you thinking you're one of those smart, genius types. And if you need more info to impress her, let me know. Because unfortunately I am one of those genius guys. Ugh 😣

I can relate to this. When I was little, my parents seemed perfect - they were everything I needed. When I began to grow up, I started noticing that they had flaws, just like every human being, and it became harder to relate to them. But we still manage to reconcile our differences and get along for the most part.

It is not a parents responsibility to be their children's best friend. This is where so many folks make mistakes because they are concerned what their child with think of them if they discipline them. I got my butt tore up many times growing up but I loved both my parents all their life and thanked them for their sacrifice in providing what I consider a great childhood with fond memories I will cherish all my life.

I'm a new mother of a 3 month old little girl, and I know how rough my own teen years were. I am dreading the teen years of my baby girl, for I know she'll believe I don't know what she's going through, and I fear I may have forgotten some my own experiences to help guide her. But I wouldn't miss it for the world. :)
