Do you wait enough until the spf is absorbed by the skin before applying foundation? Or the spf sits on top of the skin no matter how long you wait? This foundation it doesn’t dry completely because is designed for dry to normal skin and if it is applied on top of greasy thick spf it will not sit down because it’s not possible due to the thick layer of spf. That’s why when people review spf we hear things like “this is good under foundation “ or “it doesn’t go well under foundation”. Also if a foundation is a gel formula it’s recommended to use an spf gel formula or if the foundation is liquid formula the spf must be the same formula and so on. So many times it’s about what we apply under the foundation, not the foundation itself. I hope it’s helpful and Martina will give you her opinion as well.

@@alya27092 Thanks for your message 💜I live in a high UV area and I apply mineral spf with high spf. Fenty is amazing for me. I’m a Chanel stan and I didn’t hear anyone say this so I purchased twice!

@@alya27092How much time is a “reasonable” amount of time to let it sit? I find mine doesn’t set even after 10-15 min.

@@kathleenp3135 Do a test when you are home and apply this foundation on top of your face cream (let10 min between) and if the foundation looks good it means your spf is not compatible with the foundation. In this case you have to change one of them. If I spend all day (actually “all day” for me means few hours) in direct sunlight I don’t wear foundation, just spf and pressed powder on top (I have one for dry skin) followed by a blush. This happens extremely rare. I never go to beach or pool but if you go you should not wear makeup. If I go to work, visiting friends/family, shopping etc I don’t apply tones of spf (kind of same quality like a face cream) and my foundation is fine. On top of foundation I apply powder and blush and I wear sunglasses. I don’t have sun spots and my face has the same colour all year (I live in Sydney, Australia). My skin is light neutral, B20 in Chanel foundation or Alabaster in Chantecaille future skin foundation. So this is what I am doing and I am not saying you should do the same. I know that we suppose to apply much more spf (glazed donuts look) indoor or outdoor, no matter where as long as it’s daytime. I don’t do that and nobody around me looks like a greasy mess (not even people on the street), so people who are doing that probably live in a different dimension. And again now I’m talking about every day life, not beach or outdoor swimming pool situation.

Companies blame transport costs & Australia’s smaller market. Apple, sports shoes companies… all charge a premium. Maybe they’re also trying to make up for losses under Covid? They think Australians are wealthy- but folk are struggling in the post pandemic world.

Haha yeah they really are. It depends on the country obviously, I know our minimum wage is way higher than the US but I don't think the median wage is. I think that is on par or US is higher but honestly I am not educated in that so take it with a grain of salt haha Our prices have gotten even more insane from inflation in the last year though xx

Same! I tried the Fenty a few times and while i love how it looks in the beginning, at days end it just does not look good. I have normal to dry and more mature skin as well. I have heard that the new Elf foundation ($8 US) is very similar to the Fenty so may give that a shot.

I got the Wet n Wild tinted hydrator and find that it's very similar to the Fenty! Also under $10 ❤ I alternate with that to make the Chanel purchase last longer...

Yikes. I didn’t know this about the Fenty. Haven’t tried it but heard good things. Does not sound like it would work well for me at all.

I'm so glad you said this, I've felt alone on this topic - the Fenty was so terrible on me... as you say, every single imperfection on my face was outlined for all to see, from literal application it looked awful & did not get better from there, I had to throw it out because I have other foundations that are wonderful & the Fenty was so so bad, that was money in the bin (we can't do returns in Australia).

I just said the same thing above to another comment! Fenty settles so badly into all my imperfections as the day goes on! it's a no go for me! Glad I just had a pretty good sample (enough for several wears and a true test) and didn't invest in the full bottle.
