I had the Stiletto TB-II for about 5 years and I warranty replaced once. It got stolen a few weeks ago along with my daily car and I upgraded to an M-1. It's a beauty and I'm glad to hear you say it feels like the TB-II because I absolutely do not like the TB-III. Edit, outa work because of broken ribs

The replacable heads are a game changer , ditto the dead blow head . The ability to change grips is also awsome !

That's dope bro. I just ordered an M4. I'll get it on Saturday. I had the Tibone as well. Handle was slipping off on mine.

Great vid man I can't wait to get one. I was thinking about getting the m1 and two heads one smooth and one waffle.
@ibrazeau30444 жыл бұрын
I have the M1 and the M4 handles with the M1 waffle and smooth heads and the M4 dimple and Wide claw smooth heads. Obviously, I like this hammer and spent a few dollars to equip it properly. I normally use M1 handle with waffle and M4 with wide claw smooth. I prefer the Martinez over the Stiletto by a long shot but there are two things I loved on the Stiletto... the nail puller side slot metal thickness was thinner and pried nails a little better and, the large hole on the side of the head would let me insert the handle end of wall jacks when they got too high up. I could crank them on the hammer just high enough to not have to use a step ladder. Other then that, DITTO to your impressions. I say same but will add that the Martinez M1 handle grip is slimmer and handle length 2" shorter then the Stiletto and feels much better in my hand. The length difference is better for me anyways plus I can use the hammer to guesstimate 16" lengths easier as well. One caution, I am always careful with the claws of the head because I have seen some reviews of ppl complaining of them breaking. I also saw one review where the handle cracked at the bolt area and it wasn't covered by Martinez or they challenged it. Note that I have seen many many more ppl having TiBone claws break, handles come loose and faces in misalignment or coming loose so I guess there are slight problems with either brand. Stiletto is now owned by Milwaukee Tool, an influence I don't like much for hand tools such as these. One issue I have had is the bolt tends to rust at the threads. I use my hammers in rain and snow and the bolts surface rusted inside the heads. I pulled the bolts out and used a dab of silver grease to prevent more rust. Don't know if the silver grease may affect the titanium in the long-run but I have had them hammers for 2 or 3 years now and no more rust and no issues. Love my hammers and you will love yours I am sure. They fit great in my Occidentals too! Let us know your long-term impressions.

Awesome hammers! I wonder how the Martinez brand hammer will compare to stilettos tb3 hammer? I like the Martinez cats paw design better than the stiletto, but is it worth $35 more?
@kickyourfaceandlaugh6072 жыл бұрын
I have both the stiletto and Martinez cats paw. The stiletto is somewhat better because the teeth are close together. The Martinez teeth are more separated but it’s cooler because of the side bar puller and the other puller

What is the function of the cats paw holes. I've never heard of that
@callsignmohas51903 жыл бұрын
When you’re using your cats paw to hammer in behind the head of a nail to pry it out some nails can be difficult to pull especially when they’re in laminated beams putting your cats part inside these holes allows you to use your hammer as extra leverage to pry It’s not something I use a lot but when I do need to use it I’m glad this Hammer has the features it does

@callsignmohas51904 жыл бұрын
fritz inconclusive. The tibone bottom half of the grip was gone. The Martinez was half a oz heavier. I would have to look up the specs on the tibone from factory

No, handle construction is completely different. Only the face of the head is replaceable on the tb hammers and the whole head is replaceable on the Martinez hammer

Sure is purty, but my $35 unit does the same job equally well. Two people I work with have those big money hammers and they wear down quickly and the handles disintegrate in no time.
@charliechristian10973 жыл бұрын
For daily heavy use a titanium hammer is indispensable, I used one of them $35 jobs for a while but when I decided to get serious about my trade i upgraded and bought the nicest one money could buy, aka the martinez m1, sure saves the elbow during heavy swing, puts down massive power effortlessly, and is guaranteed by a lifetime warranty against any manufacturing defect. So a virtually unbreakable hammer, which can be modulated to accommodate both rough and finish applications, where the rubber handle wear out issue has been addressed perfectly by the updated replaceable grip and head... All in all, for a weekend warrior, $35 dewalt or Hart will get the job done, but for a professional, the martinez is the only hammer that can suffice.
@kickyourfaceandlaugh6072 жыл бұрын
You’re lying. I have had my m1 Martinez for a year now, it’s been in and out my diamondback hammer sleeve, it’s still good. And that $35 hammer doesn’t drive nails as effortless as the Martinez or not as lightweight. Have fun carrying that heavy hammer with no punch.

Been using a m1 in bridge construction and remodeling for 2 years. Setting panels for parapet I can go through a 50 pound box of 16p duplex in a day. Hammer is beastly to swing and easy on elbows hands and wrists. Just got another m1 handle with a 12 oz trim head on it also. Martinez tool logo earned a spot on my hardhat!

@callsignmohas51903 жыл бұрын
You’re absolutely right I do I think that’s really change is a lot of wear and discoloration on the head due to the fact that I store my hammer head down in my tool bags instead of using the hook or loop. And obviously from smack and nails the face has shown a little bit of wear but none of the waffling is worn flat like you see with the stiletto.

An old coworker told me to never get one because he had to replace the head every 3 months and the price for a new head wasn’t worth it.. told me to get a stiletto to save on money. Bought one changed the Allen bolt to a 9/16s hex bolt grabbed a 9/16s wrench and I’ve never changed or tightened the head since and I’ve never used that thread glue.. had mine for two years and nothing wrong with it..
@callsignmohas51903 жыл бұрын
Oh they are solid. Iv had no issues with the head. Same guy designed both hammers. I’ve been using the hammer every day for the past year when i made this video and compared to the stiletto, it’s really a coin toss. The handle eventually came off the stiletto, but some tape used on a base ball bat fixed that 😂.
@ianmcintosh9634 Жыл бұрын
Estwing rules lol and at a fraction of the price had mine 20+ years. To be honest I don’t use a hammer much anymore (does anyone)it’s all nail guns for roughing and finishings.

Stiletto is way more balanced. Technically, yes they are both 15oz but the steel head makes the Martinez a lot more top heavy. Arm feels better hitting nails with stiletto versus Martinez which has more vibration (my opinion).

So if you're using a steel head, why don't you pay $25 for a Vaughan 19oz California framer with a wood handle
@callsignmohas51904 жыл бұрын
Early Cuyler A lot of the times wood handles for break or the head becomes loose and you can only put so many wedges in the top of your hammer to prevent wiggle I guess it all boils down to how hard and how often you use this hammer which is a great determining factor for your purchase.

@@callsignmohas5190The thing that’s important here is that in carpentry it is not the tool that makes your skill. I work with guys that will be working circles around you with their 30 dollar Vaughn. The skill makes the tool valuable. Not the other way around. A 40 dollar hammer can do everything that a 400 dollar Martinez can do except it won’t have a side puller. As cool as that is you will still get out worked by a guy with a 40 dollar hammer if you think that bells and whistles like that are necessary to do your job. A specialty hammer is a treat no doubt. But I’ll still take a 30 dollar Vaughn or Estwing over a 400 dollar 14 oz titanium POS.
