it's true tho, microsoft simplified every icon from 7 to 10 and 10 to 11,like the file explorer for exemple, the icon had more detail on win 7, and over time, microsoft decided to make the attention to detail smaller. (idk why they do that, that's probably why i liked win 7, the icons had more detail back at the time and the backgroud was more colorful) they probably wanted to make win 10 and 11 cleaner, simpler and more modern, maybe that's the reason

@@WololoWololo2Actually Windows 8.1 was designed for tablets, however Microsoft ported it to PCs so people struggled to use it on their PCs, and also Windows 8.1 uses the same icons used since Vista

This basically shows the evolution of modern GUI Design: Windows 7 has Skeuomorphism, Windows 10 has Minimalism, Windows 11 has a more flat kind of Neumorphism. Trust me though, in future versions of Windows, icons are probably gonna be 3D with frosted glass effects everywhere. I mean, they already kind of are anyway

@@YouthMistake Ok, Good luck staying in Windows 7 with your 480p laptop 😂😂😂😂 For Windows 11 in most minimum you definitely need 4K resolution and more than 18 inch on an screen to have way less DPI in settings im saying this cuz Start Menu on Windows 11 doesn’t even fit into an 9 inch screen, I myself tried this on an 16 inch 1080p res LCD gaming laptop and Windows 11’s taskbar and start menu is HUGE, SO THICK and SO LONG

I like the Windows 7 icons better than the 10 or 11. To me, Windows 7 was peak Windows. Peak in both looks and pleasant to use. I still have it on my desktop computer (now a dual boot machine). Windows 8, 8.1 on my laptop was ok (I had a windows phone. Laptop and phone communicated with each other/synced seamlessly}. The laptop got upgraded to Windows 10. Windows 10 is ok, but 7 was best for me. That same laptop cannot upgrade to Win 11 when Win 10 EOLs. So when that happens, the laptop will become part of the "Penguin Brigade" just as my desktop did.

correction: the video is talking about the windows 10 rtm version and not 22H2, and at the time when windows 10 was released, edge had that icon since it didn't have chromium yet. and groove got replaced by media player recently, and the windows 10 microsoft store was replaced by the windows 11 microsoft store.

Microsoft Edge Chromium was started as of Default Browser on Windows 10 version 20H2-22H2. But, in Windows 10 version 1903-2004 you can Upgrade to Edge Chromium.

⁠⁠⁠@@hossammoahyou do not know anything about Windows. No, every version, xp and beyond is NOT a reskin of windows 95. Windows 95 was built off of the MS-DOS. It was not even an operating system, just a more user-friendly interface for MS-DOS. Windows NT (NEW TECHNOLOGY) was Microsoft’s own operating system, and was finally used in an operating system that could be used for home, Windows XP. Nothing besides 98, 2000 and ME were reskins of 95.

Vista and 7 UI was the best. In general anything after Win 7 is just dumb. Will be learning and using Linux on a 2nd machine in the next few years, hopefully will get to a point where it can be my daily driver.
