The SCT unit is a tuner tool, not a gauge pod. Flash your tune then put the SCT back in the box unless you're datalogging for some reason. I've been happy with my Marty tune. I needed something because I changed the diff to 3.73 gears and my speedo was off, the performance program and transmission control were bonuses. How are you likin' your Marty tune? You can get a Bluetooth dongle to plug into the car and use your phone to get the gauges you want. That option is about $50, can be free to use or you can get some kind of subscription for the extra fancy BS. I used the bluetooth unit with free software app during Hot Rod Power Tour to monitor temps and RPMs in my 2004 Sport. I might have Marty adjust my rev limiter a bit...

Just received mine yesterday and installed. I 100% say it's worth it! My shifts and throttle response on my 07 P71 are on point now! With the tuner I'm supposedly never going to get the infamous wrench light on the dash from installing a cold air intake. I say anyone who has a Vic.... do this!

I really enjoy the marty tune I've had it for about 1 month . I turned the shift pressure down 10% , my car runs like never before .

Any upgrade or performance upgrades that you do,you will need to have it re tuned also from wherever/whoever you got it from..i.e. gearing,headers,exhaust, etc.

One bit of advice I'd like to share, if you want a bit more power and some induction noise, pull the air intake horn off the front of the airbox. You'll have to remove the airbox to get at it properly, but you'll see how small that opening is compared to the rest of the intake tubing. It's very restricting.

Thiers actually alot you can do with the tuner itself...Power improvements wise involves the timing and fuel maps which the sct also has but this a dangerous thing to play with if you arent familiar with it as this can cause severe engine damage...So i agree its not dyno tuned hence no power gains. You can adjust shift points at whatever rpm you want...remove the speed limiter..play with when youre cooling fans kicks on...you can adjust idle in and out of gear..you can adjust the rev limiter at idle or in gear...you have multiple guages including a tachometer. Unless timing and fuel is altered you can easily tune things yourself including the trans firmess. Im getting an sct x4 for my 01 Marquis to play with.

My experience with these tunes, and I've had a few on my '08 CVPI, is that what they mostly do is change the transmission line pressures and shift characteristics which severally degrade the life of the transmission. Increasing the line pressure and overly aggressive transmission upshifts and downshifts on the 4R70 & 4R75 transmissions, especially the downshifts from 4th to 2nd, will ultimately cook the stock transmission. My experience with one company's product and tune billed as "More power less fuel" was that it ultimately used more fuel even when I drove very gingerly with little noticeable power increase. The reality is these are only 281 CID motors in a 4,000+ lbs car with usually crappy rear-end gearing that were designed to cruise comfortably and not much else. Unfortunately, about the only really fast thing you're going to get from Ford is an over priced death trap Muststain.

Wowwww, I just had Marty retune mine. I hated the firm hard shift. He says alot of people prefer a "7" on a scale of 1 to 10. I was like can you turn mines down to a 5...lol...the firm shifts felt like I was abusing the transmission on my marauder

My marauder has some kind of tune in it cause it would slam into gear so hard the dash would rattle but only at wot.

So if the shifts are too firm and the length before it shifts is too long, can you adjust it yourself? Or are you stuck with what he pre loaded on there?

I can see people’s trans shitting out because they are rapping there rides all the time. I have a 2010 p71 and need something that can accelerate onto the highway and not hold up traffic. I don’t rape my rides.
