Maruti Gypsy is an old-fashioned all-wheel-drive sports utility vehicle and one of the company’s toughest vehicles, which has the same masculine look pretty much ideal for police purposes and military force. Maruti Suzuki Gypsy rose to a cult status with its strong off-road capabilities and butch looks. Despite being a very old design, you can still buy one with a BSIV 1.3l petrol engine today. Maruti Suzuki Gypsy has some real tough competition out there. The new range of SUVs is miles ahead but where Gypsy scores is its off-roading capability. All these cars also have diesel variants available, which goes against the Japanese maker. Mahindra has an impressive line-up of SUVs in this range, and so have Ford and Renault. They havent changed much in tbe gypsy but they sure have hiked the price . Bought a new gypsy and realised the mistake I did . Maruti has no plans of spending a dime on further developments this vehicle . They cater to the govt and armed forces who donot complain much . So the parts used are so substandard that it will shock you . The leaf springs already had negative camber in them , the alternator was overcharging . These were a few items in the long list I noted

Gypsy has been the most travelled vehicle during my childhood as my father serves in BRO and gypsy was the prominent commuter vehicle for the officers there at that time, got nostalgic. long live legend.

Man this tiny little truck is able to do a lot of work even though it has an average torque,it is because of it's high RPM and high acceleration ,this tiny cheap beast can perform most of the things which a normal truck struggles to do ,from off-roading to street racing and easy maintenance with durability,reliability and ruggedness and also it's cheap price and simplicity has favoured it in many rally events and armed forces ,I don't know why non sense people prefer cars like fortuner and pajero sport ,gypsy can just beat those cars!!!!!!😁😁😁😁😁

How are they they even a soft roader(fortuner and pajero) and what do you mean by "gypsy has no competition " gypsy is a lot more better than the given 4x4s(fortuner and pajero) and similar prototypes in USA(the Suzuki samurai) can even beat a humvee/hummer h1

Indian market is limited with only TWO pure 4x4 vehicles with around 10 lakh price range that's Gypsy and Mahindra Thar, we as buyer's seriously need more choice in this segment.

U peoples have demerits about gypsy -No abs -No ac -No left side mirror -No smoothy -no modern tech -no power steering I my mind - she is a 4×4 with manual and auto locking -she got a refined engine -she is low weighted 4wd in todays world -low cost in maintenance -good in mileage around 15 is jst a good mileage ryt -we can use our gypsys for loading our own purposes which land rovers owner cont use there machine ryt😂😂😂, i m telling bcse land rover owners r in ths coment section taking about :::rovers r better than gypsy::: ✌cheers️✌️ -if u driving gypsy, policemen will look at u for a couple of secs thinking is there any government officials inside 😉 gypsy owners knws what i m taking. -easy to drive with manual settings - she is beautiful in stock condition and if modified with rally cabin with role cage simple grt 👌 MG413W IS LOVE

Do you even know petrol has a lot of advantage over diesel? It can climb a sand dune with a much higher velocity due to higher power to weight ratio! And most off-road vehicles are gasoline powered as it can withstand slush ,diesel also does but diesel is useless in lightweight 4x4s ,diesel is suitable for a 2 ton 4x4 like the Land Rover defender!
