honestly, if the show had taken a page from Arrow and focused more on time on flashback's of Danny's training in K'un lun, then the show would have been a little better. not by much but it would have been an improvement

I've enjoyed these videos. Thank you. Now that Netflix has released Iron Fist it is pretty obvious that they have played around with the origin story. Since the story they used is a little similar, but actually more in tune with the times I think it will fit more in line with where they will go in the new Defenders movie getting ready to be released this summer. I liked the netflix/marvel rendition of Iron Fist.

Man Marvel must hate this character, everytime he gets a good book going they cancel it or try and kill him off. Also really he lost in the first round? Ah the Skrull's Marvels ultimate reset back to normal button. If not them then make up another shape-changing race.

I am upset iron fist is not getting a season 3 on Netflix. IMO, season 1 had a very rocky start but found its stride about halfway. Season 2 was so good! Never have I ever seen such a turn around in quality. R.I.P Netflix Iron Fist.

I think he actually is getting his own series again with Andrews writing only. I actually like Iron-Fist and I dig his origin. It's pretty interesting and I liked his character in the original Power-Man and Iron Fist series as well as Kaare Andrews run. With regards to the Netflix series, I feel a bit concerned since they do not have as many stories to pull from and I do not know how much the writers would be able to add on to keep it going. Season 1 will of course be about him trying to take back his company from the Meachum's and most likely the Hand. With later seasons they could explore the mythology of Kunlun further but that is totally left up in the air if this show will get multiple seasons. For now, I feel curious more than anything else in the Netflix series and excited for Kaare Andrews to write the title again. He develops characters in an interesting way.

Can anyone tell me what the mantle of the Iron fist means? I know what it means in the tv show but its never fully stated in the comics (as far as I know) and some of the actions the comics does just makes it confusing

Thanks! That was a really good sum up of Iron Fist. I sometimes forget how tortured the attempts of Marvel have been to shoe horn this character into reality after his initial iteration. It really is bad. After the earlier Iron Fist, it got really poorly written. It is a shame, so much potential.

Kaare Andrews really did an amazing job of re-establishing Danny Rand. While the tone was a little more edgier than I would have liked the current incarnation is absolutely retarded and goofy. I highly recommend people to check out the two collected books. All the ideas and imagery are top notch in my book, I just wanted Danny to be more "heroic" versus "tragic".
