Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

If the inner shirt is orange and the outer coat is white, it makes perfect sense that as he transform the outer garment would fall off first, leaving the inner to still be hanging.

Personally, I think this is one of the best Hulk's they've made. It's a grey hulk I think they knocked it out of the park. The Bruce Banner I could have done without but I think if you are a newer collector this is a great addition to your collection.

I agree 100%. The head sculpt and them purposely making Hulk less toned is very accurate to the early Silver Age Hulk. Superheroes didn't get defined or toned until the late 60s to 70s.

I haven't been compelled to buy another Hulk figure since the one from the 80th Anniversary Hulk/Wolverine 2-pack. That one is pretty much a perfect classic comic Hulk IMO and that's all I really need. I actually do like the way the larger head looks on this new figure. But since I have no real need for a gray Hulk, I passed on this set. Great review though.

I've recently started using matte finishes on my customs and even adding it to figures who have that "plastic" look to them. These figures, especially Hulk just looks really cheap with the gloss finish (or is it just molded grey plastic), like a toy you'd find in the babies section

In the original The Incredible Hulk comics he was originally Gray not Green, and Bruce Banner turns into the hulk by Night like Werewolf style not by anger

Excellent review! I have the old pre-Toybiz Bruce Banner and REALLY need a better Bruce....but that grey hulk...ugh. I've got the Toybiz grey Hulk and am enjoying that a lot more (just like you said!). As it is, I've dropped my pre-order of this.

They gave him a new upper chest and the reason they most likely didn't change the articulation was because they wanted to reuse the same inside arm piece. If they made a cut in the front then they'd have to resculpt that piece too. Right now it's flat and not defined. I am sure the team tried to fix that, but it was cost reduced by management.

Yeah, the old Toy Biz grey Hulk, with it's green shadows on the grey skin, and it's purple shadows on the blue jeans. Back then (and before), Toy Biz didn't have the 'bottle' (courage) to 'step away from the green' when it came to a Grey Hulk figure, or a Mr Fixit figure. It's like they equated the green skin to green money. Toy Biz just didn't have the creative courage that Marvel Comics Group had (HAD...past tense!).

I got this set for $29 free shipping from Amazon, the biggest problem I have with it is there is no texture on the chest and stomach, but there is everywhere else. I got it for so cheap that I'm going to dissect it, and make it the hulk that it needs to be

Glad they changed the color of Hulk to green, he would look straight copy of Solomon Grundy if they did not changed it. But Grey Hulk would look even more terrifying if he was grey in a live action.

I personally think the best look for the Hulk is gray, but as traditional savage hulk … not joe fixit. And also have him with bright glowing gamma green eyes, and like gamma green veins in his musculature showing the radiation courses through him powering him. So in essence a live action version of Tim Sale and Ultimates Hulk. Visually at least. Definitely most frightening. But I definitely agree with your assessment. What came first Hulk or Solomon Grundy btw?

Since it's so much lighter than the SCDD Grey Hulk (which only had one set of hands) it doesn't even at least offer a 2nd set of hands for the SDCC Grey Hulk. The two blah-boring heads don't say 'rage' or 'angry'. The soft fleshy chest isn't sinewey, 'stressed', 'straining' or 'roid rage'. The light grey skin is very 'daytime' or worse it's too 90's Marvel Cartoons (ugh!!! not those!). As Grey Hulk primarily was/is a nighttime character (with nighttime transformations), and Stan Lee wanted Hulk grey to be "spooky" and scary...the SDCC Grey Hulk just runs rings around this two pack. Put your $60 towards a SDCC Grey Hulk, it's worth it!

I got it because I’ve only been into collecting legends for a year and a half. I’m also a really big hulk fan. I got this, 20’th toy biz so far for hulk. I really need hasbro to make a 90’s professor hulk now, and a new abomination while they’re at it

Thank you once again. I'm that die-head Hulk fan, and I desperately could use the Bruce Banner... great classic look for him, but the actual figure itself could have been soooooooo much better, agreed. Other than the lack of shading on the pants, I love this grey Hulk figure. Admittedly, I almost want Hasbro to figure out the forward butterfly joints... almost. Would it mean I'd be buying a bunch of green Hulks all over again? And for me personally, this is a 1st appearance grey Hulk while the 80th anniversary grey Hulk is a Todd McFarlane-inspired grey Hulk. But what is KILLING me... I really, really wish Hasbro would have made these grey Hulks in more accurate smaller proportions to the green Hulks.

Good review. I would have bought Grey Hulk on his own. I've got no interest in the Bruce Banner figure. He looks like my girlfriend's gyno, Doctor Seidman. My favorite Hulk is still Compound Hulk or Christmas Hulk, as I call him.

The new Hulk heads look fantastic. I don't mind the smoothed out torso, but why not do the same with the arms? I'd like more out of costume/unpowered versions of more heroes and villains, Steve Rogers in his civvies, Dr Donald Blake etc. So I was looking forward to a Bruce Banner, but this on the old suited bod is disappointing. His head looks like he's still in college. Young Sheldon looks more mature. Some other civillians would be cool. Betty Ross, Ned Leeds or even armed forces types, Thunderbolt Ross, Major Talbot etc.

In the early Silver Age, all of the artists never drew much definition into the muscles. It was only in the 70s that they started drawing them looking like bodybuilders.

Love your reviews because of your brutal honesty and all your comparisons with prior iterations. However, I feel you are being ticky tacky about the shoulder joints or the gaps. Doesn't even faze me. As for the lack of muscular definition on the torso, I actually love that. If you read early Silver Age Marvel comics drawn by Jack Kirby, none of the characters have much muscular definition whether it's Hulk or Spider-Man or even Cap so I appreciate the accuracy to the original vs the earlier Gray Hulk which was essentially a repaint and was too ripped. It's only in the late 60s to the 70s that you started seeing a lot of definition in the art. Also the head sculpt is more accurate to the original comic. If anything, this is a faithful rendition to the original comics of that era and is a great figure except for the pins on Bruce Banner's joints.

4:55 Banner's shoulders are on backwards. The sculpted lines on them are the sleeve seams and they're supposed to be on the other side. Check the original figures that use these parts, Coulson and Chameleon have the lines on the back. It's not QC, all Banner figures are like this. The render they showed has the shoulders on the correct sides, but somehow the final product doesn't. First ML Banner figure and they botched it. Makes me so angry I want to smash something.

Same hulk figure with just different head really tired of hasbro giving same body moulds and most frustrating part these 2 packs are for 60 dollars not even worth it. Although marvel select have less articulation compare to legends but still marvel select gives us big chunky highly detailed hulk figure with affordable price.

The bare chest has to be the STUPIDEST idea from the legends team. And that’s saying a lot considering how many idiotic decisions that team has made these past few years. Who tf asked for that? They make it seem like they know so much better than the community sometimes and then someone on that team suggested that they should PAY FOR NEW TOOLING to remove the sculpted detail on hulks chest . . . WHYYYYYYYYYY? How could you possibly think that the community wanted something so random? The legends team has lost all logic and reason. You could’ve put that money into shading, more accesorios, etc. So dumb Dark days of marvel legends 2.0 going strong

Why doesn’t Bruce Banner come with a scared/nervous/stressed face?? He just looks like he’s standing there. Which is effectively all he’s gonna do. Supposedly, this set is supposed to be based on one of the most iconic comic covers of all time and you can’t even properly recreate it because Bruce looks immensely bored with what’s happening.

The ONLY reason they should have retooled Hulk's chest is to give him forward butterfly movement!! The fact that they didn't, and left the pecs completely plain and undefined makes it look ridiculous! 🤷‍♂👎👎
