For me the plastic making this version feel like a toy is what i wanted. It reminds me of the style of figure the secret wars version was. So collecting a Movie version, Cartoon version, Comic Version and a Retro Toy Version is something i like in different lines. Would it be better with better colors, yes and no i would perfer another release as a comic version. Transfromers will do a Toon and a toy version repaint so i wish Marvel would add more toy version recolors of their releases. The big boot version of Iron Man is my favorite suit and never though he would be in the line so very glad to get it in any colors bad or good.

I have the old Toybiz of this armor and yeah this guy looks good in terms of anatomy and the boot compromise. Pros of Toybiz tho is they got painted reds and yellow are golds so they actually look premium (altho from age, some of the red paints are turning pink now) I'd buy this guy definitely when it goes on sale as always with hasbro legends then paint them up to be the same as Toybiz.

There is just something about those funny as hell space man boots. That suit the Silver Centurion and Modular Armor are still my favorites.

I do wish they had gone with a darker red and gold, Iron Man is the Golden Avenger and in the context of the comics he’s supposed to be red and gold. That’s just a preference thing.

Nice fair review. This is not his leanest armor so limited articulation was to be expected. I'm just glad it sizes properly with other ML figures now (the previous release was SO small).

If you were to be "bought out" by a retailer, Big Bad Toy Store is definitely one of the best ones. It's definitely my favorite way for getting figures too. And to see Anthony's Customs get sponsored by BBTS would be awesome if it ever happened. This figure looks nice but I already own the previous version of this armor so I think I'm good for now but I'll probably upgrade if it goes down in price a little.

This was one of my favorites from the wave. It’s fun to mess with. I switch the heads and hands with the Hasbro Pulse Exclusive Modular Iron Man, and trimmed a little of his boot for a tiny bit better range. Would love a video of you talking about pinned VS Pinless.

I remember a custom Glenn Webb made for a previous version of this design with altered boots and a more consistent paint job. I'd probably get this but not without the same enthusiasm as Model 20 Iron Man. Maybe if the price drops

Model 9 (aka "Neo-Classic Armor") was my most wanted Iron Man figure because it was featured in the 1991 trading cards. The 2017 figure had weird articulation and was a smaller scale, but at least it was the right colors (red and GOLD!). I'm not sure if I want to try painting this one, or waiting and hoping for another version with the proper colors.

would love it if they did this one with the slightly thinner boots and gauntlets in a darker red and darker gold finish to more match the model 9 from the Avengers arcade game. This will work for now i rather like it...outside the brightness

I’m glad they updated this figure. I’m hoping that they do a re-release with the more metallic gold and red like the 2013 figure. Aside from the modular suit and the Extremis, this one is my favorite from the comics.

only the newest female molds have the pvc hips, maybe the vulcan mold does too, but pretty much everything else has hard plastic hips

I've been thinking of it as "The Fisher-Price Iron Man" . I'd definitely like a repainted comic version.

For me is probably a 7, because of the colour scheme, but I'm happy to have it, I always liked that model and the comic books attached. And it looks good with the mullet Tony Stark head. The neck in mine doesn't move either.

I really didn't care for pinless til I was marketed. However now I really don't care, and one other thing is that it's not as easy to customize or swap parts.

Yeah do the pinless joints video so you can refer to that from now on, you tend to repeat your points and annoyance about it a lot I don’t think a lot of people understand how they work and how they defer from pinned joints or the typical way imports do joints, Hasbro’s process is basically the same as what RG Gunpla frames were doing using injection moulding but it was more trouble than it was worth

Pins are visible from every angle that isn’t straight on. Unless you are having all your figures straight on and displayed with no posing, pins are inferior. Imports are all pinless. They don’t have any complaints because it’s done well. Hope you’d mention this on your pin vs pinless video.

I'd prefer the version with slimmed down boots; also metallic red and yellow gold would make it look less cheap. I do agree it needs a better articulation scheme.atbe.some relaxed hands too.

I had no idea that Tony wore Mega Man boots for one of his armors. I like the bulky limbs and angular chest design that this armor sport, so. I'd consider getting one if Mafex or Revoltech decided to give this design a shot.

Anthony, do you ever hear about BBTS having bad shipping? I’ve had it several times and some friends as well. Just wondering.

This is one of the few instances where I actually don't mind the swirly plastic in the colors they chose, it just gives me 80s and 90s toy vibes, with that said the articulation is still pretty antiquated, I like the figure a lot, but Marvel Legends just aren't keeping up with their contemporaries, this figure is only as good as it is compared to other Marvel Legends, if this was the average instead of actually bad figures being more prevalent, I feel like the line would be doing a lot better. It cracks me up seeing Hasbro apologists and fanboys gassing up mediocre to bad figures like the new angel that just came out when there is so much better for around the same price point, like what Jada toys or Neca are doing. Hell, even though they put out a lot of mediocre and bad figures, the best figures from McFarlane's DC Multiverse are way better than the best Marvel Legends.

hard plastic hips on iron man figures are kinda a ticking time bomb, My iron man 2020 and a few others degraded and broke off at the swivle part much like the old Black knights and Serpent society figures did.

@AnthonysCustoms have you seen the solo Batfleck release by mcfarlane? Its probably one of the very best figures todd has released. Not a fan of batfleck, but that figure feels so good and articulate in hands, and it has adequate proportions for once Just wanted to recommend you something nice

Nice figure and it is a kids toy 4 and up I don't find the colors bad it's not a hot toys 🧸 it's for fun I think it shows that Hasbro is really improving despite that trouble it has been having . It's a very accurate iron man to the 90s very nostalgic to me. The toy looks fine because it's why adults that grew up with this iron man are buying it for . It's just different for the whining Millinials .

I think Hasbro's products are generally designed as kid's toys. People usually use this as a defense for Hasbro's shitty products, but I'm using for the opposite. Be honest, genuinely honest with yourself. What is there to Marvel Legends that makes you want these? They're definitely not high end, they don't look like the characters most times, they're mostly the same bodies, what's there to like about these? The only thing us adult collectors enjoy about Marvel Legends is the character selection. There are adult collectors out there who don't care about Marvel, so they're just going to stay away from Marvel Legends because there's nothing appealing about them from a collector's viewpoint. Hasbro's managed to tap into that market of adults who liked these characters as kids, and they're so attached that they're willing to defend these shitty products. Unlike Jada, so many non Street Fighter fans bought Fei Long because how good of a figure it is, not because they had an emotional attachment that IP.

I love this look, unfortunately the paint and plastic look like ass, the original paint on the first version blows this one away, so lame

It is a kid's toy. Hasbro is making these toys for kids. They don't care about the collectors who buy these. You complain about needed paint and stuff, but at the end of the day Hasbro is making them for the kids who love superheros and the moms who want to make their child happy end of story.
