Juggernaut has had his moments like this. Note the time he sunk to the bottom of the ocean and walked for weeks through the continental mantle with nothing to occupy him except his thoughts. All of a sudden he was as well spoken as Beast.

@@dinmavric5504 Agree, it started downhill for sure after Hickman moved on, and maybe the core of the problem here is Hickman never intended for the Krakoa story to be 'permanent' as it were so it was destined to fall apart. That said, I feel there was an awful lot of potential left and agree with Rob that they kicked the entire thing to the curb to make X-Men more MCU friendly.

@@wyattmcmanus3119 hard to say, cuz in recent years seems rob has been neglecting details of things in his vids, be it minor yet important elements to the story or knowing what characters are what, i blame his self imposed hate boner for blackbolt and inhumans, which honestly is more annoying than anything to views like me that got it the first half dozen time and each time afterwards was just beating a dead horse beyond recognition

i made the right decision to stop reading x-men last year. the climax for each storyline has been abysmally underwhelming. and look at this trash they are giving us. this is no different than the x-men going back to the mansion, except that the mansion is a defunct sentinel factory, and magneto is a fill-in for xavier.

Why does everything look a bit cartoony and somewhat ugly? What is wrong with that beast, he looks like a blue ghoul. =/ edit: if this comic was my first ever x-men interaction, I wouldn't fall in love with the x-men at all.. this really doesn't look like a good place to get familiar with the x-men. I mean we have a off brand todoroki in the team and even cyclops doesn't look like himself, it's like the artist used tom holland as a reference.

@@danieladusei1993 Based on the clues it will. What’s not clear is after how many years. Remember the phrase “so ended the first Krakoan Age”. This indicates there shall be a second one, if sales drop beyond a certain level or if the story demands it

For the confused: Psylocke is Kwannon, not Betsy Quentin died before the last resurrection of mutants done from the white hot room. So I think he was resurrected as per Xavier instructions Temper is Oya. New battle name. Beast is the younger-avengerstime clone created to beat with his smarts the og Beast gone mad. He is never been on krakoa as he implies while speaking with the police lady. Yes I’m obsessively rereading all the krakoa run atm

Yeah… I really can’t remember an arc that sticked the landing for me. Ever. But still I persist since the nineties. It’s the difference between comics and manga. I appreciate a good storytelling and closure in mangas. But then I feel bereft and lonely. Comics are always there, the good the bad and the in between

Original Beast (presumably) died stopping his old bestie Wonder Man from sacrificing himself to stop one of Beast's schemes. This Beast is the last remaining clone with memories that only go back to his time as an Avenger in the 70s, though after awakening he has since caught up on what Original Beast was up to since then.

The only thing I really hated about the Krakoa age was the insane amount of books you had to read and the order in which to read I felt you had to be a mutant to follow it.

The first Black Bishop we ever saw in the Hellfire Club (back in the 80s) could increase gravity, IIRC. Shaw could withstand a lot of kinetic punishment before getting overwhelmed. I wonder if those are Hellfire Club ressurected.

I do think it's cool to see people like Juggernaut and Magneto, traditional villians, working with them. Sure they were allies before but you didn't really see them that much. I'm curious where other are, like Prof. X, Storm, etc. I guess it's a start.

@@Gabriel-Crandall they pretty much ended the Krakoen era of the X-men due to the fact that they’re going to be debuting in the MCU in a few years. So they want to make comics that match up with the MCU vision of the X-Men.

@@4paceI don't think it's that, the MCU was never going to touch the krakoen era. Wouldn't even make to bring a new audience into X-Men by starting off with that considering we never got a proper take at all from the movies in the early 2000s. They will probably lean more towards classics comics.

@@kashboywonder3364 They’re making the art design of this new X-Men run close to the classic comics. However, if the last 10 years of marvel comics is any indicator, they pretty much did a hard reset on the X-Men continuity in order for it to match with Kevin Fiege‘s new vision of the X-Men. They did the same thing with all new all different marvel. Nowadays, Marvel comics don’t dictate MCU films, MCU films dictate comics. If anything, the MCU wants to make the X-Men look like the more traditional version of the characters in order to ease in the mainstream people who aren’t as familiar with the X-Men and it’s stories.

No it was Grant Morrison who had Xorn as Magneto. it was revealed in Grant Morrison's last arc. Chuck Austien and Marvel comic wanted to keep Xorn cause he was popular. So they had it was Xorn's brother who was impersonating him and magneto.

Honestly i am not a fan of rebooting the x-men again because even though the Krakoa era crashed and burned they could’ve done something to keep at least the some of that idea intact without starting over from scratch again but that’s just my opinion.

@@tmills7374I don't know a lot about Temper but Iceman is, sometimes, considered an omega level mutant because he can create absolute zero. Absolute zero is theoretical but also a universal killing level power. Tempering is a balancing act between cold and hot (heat and more heat.) Again, I barely know anything about the character Temper. She sounds like a good choice for the reader's perspective. I'd love to hear more about her though.

Originally a character from the Age of Apocalypse story was called Holocaust he died years ago and the Marvel 616 version is named Genocide.

So we gonna ignore the fact that the last time we saw Kid Omega he was a head in a box and died in Wolverine #50 but now he’s back again without explanation. I’m sure it will come up later considering this is a time jump from X-Men v6 #35 but it’s still odd not to even mention that he’s back in the first issue. Also this isn’t Betsy Braddock Psylocke it’s Kwannon

To be honest ,this video left me with more questions than I started with. I love you@comics_explained @Rob and I am a long time and major fan of the channel. I miss the comics explained part of it though . I feel like you have been recapping lately. Now I am from South Africa and access to comics is not so easy now imagine is introducing someone to comic books through a video like this. I am only saying this because I know the difference of an inspired Rob and a Rob who is just covering content. All the best and all the love to you my brother

Psylocke is Kwannon. The original Psylocke (Betsy Braddock) is now Captain Britain and she will be on the X-Force team led by Forge.

This isn't the Betsy Braddock version of Psylocke - this is Kwannon. Betsy and Kwannon are back in there own respected bodies with Kwannon taking on the Psylocke mantle and Betsy taking on the Captain Britain mantle.

For some of you guys, remember, the first issue is not always a great starter for a series. It is usually laying the ground work and introducing things. And this is a "soft reboot" at that. At least we have snarky and protective/threatening Magneto flexing in that chair ❤😂

I noticed the Kwannon error on the day that it was released. I just actually looked at the issue and I'm more surprised that Temper & Quentin were a item, which seems surprising, as it seemed he had a thing with one of Emma's clones and that was going on for quite a period, yet Temper is upset about going into the pit and Quentin was silent.

This sounds so cool, but I'm so Angry at how they managed the whole krakoa thing. They finally had the home they always wished for (deserved after years of comics) and now we are back at square one
