@@randomize4189 It can be just enough sustain during some team fights that it will keep you from dying early or protect you when an enemy duelist tries to dive you. Peni is also a tank that can (and should) often take high ground or off-angles, and putting webs at your feet while in these positions means you can keep your health up without putting much extra demand on your supports. It's also passive and thus requires very little effort to take advantage of, so make use of it.

@@tswrangle1000 I don't know if all stuns work equally but a Peni web or a Luna Snow freeze will do the trick if you can hit it. It makes the ult feel much more fair, being super powerful but still allowing counter-play. Unlike Star-Lord's ult, which can't be interrupted and is nearly impossible to take cover from.

I feel most comfortable analyzing her from a team perspective that assumes coaching and coordination to maximize potential. Peni is a lockdown defender who will be responsible for running the defense from the point and keeping control of choke points, and so pairing her with Venom as an off-tank makes perfect sense, as she gets a solid AOE dmg buff which is going to be fitting for her play style which is focused around choke points. More importantly, Venom is everything Peni is not, an aggressive bully with plenty of movement and a kit that can capitalize off that movement offensively when used as a dive tank, or supporting a flank, or any number of other dynamics roles a bully like Venom can take on, that is exactly what you want in an off-tank that will be filling in Peni's weaknesses and putting general pressure on the enemy team which will inevitably cause them to push choke points with less confidence playing into Peni's game. The other big advantage to running a Venom with Peni is lowering her burden as an IGL, as Venom is going to be a highly independent off-tank who might even be running the offense themselves alongside a flank or DPS like Spider-Man. Now Peni herself is a bit of an off-tank, as she can be very strong when playing off-angles with her movement and can either set up choke points before playing these off-angles or use that same aspect of her kit for flank watch, but I promise you, she will be a far bigger asset to her team if you use her as a primary area denial/area control tank holding down point/key defensive positions. In fact, I think Peni mains who chase massive DMG numbers on off-angles are going to end up potentially taking down their team by leaving key vulnerabilities in the defense, unless obviously you are running her as a true off-tank alongside a powerful main tank who has those vulnerabilities covered, but like I said, I think she will do best with Venom playing a bully dive tank role, not with a main tank. As for mechanics, her interrupt is going to be very powerful in skilled hands, and by that I mean both mechanically skilled hands that can actually hit it on an instant's notice (players with great flick shot skill will do great with the mechanical aspect and it is expected that high skill players will know all sounds and visual cues for anything major that requires an interrupt like certain ults) but also more importantly players who understand what to prioritize and when to use an interrupt, as an interrupt can save your entire team when used in the right moment. The other high mechanical skill aspect of her kit will likely end up being her tether which the best players will use to create differing methods of strafing that significantly increase her survivability, while the tether is still going to be needed for positioning, with her role holding choke points and her low projectile speed weapon, close quarters strafing against enemies pushing through the choke will suit her better. Lastly, for all the same reasons Venom will pair well with her, so will Spider-Man, as Spider-Man and Venom will be a perfect pair (even without Peni), with the added advantage of Spider-Man being even more mobile and even more capable of covering Peni's flank and providing intel to help Peni position herself and her abilities to hold the correct choke points. Obviously, the more open the map, and the more heroes they have with good verticality and flying abilities, the more Peni will suffer. However on the opposite end of this spectrum she will be quite dominant in more closed maps and against melee heroes. I'd say her skill ceiling is fairly high but mostly strategic, not mechanical. She will be a solid hero for the above average player with friends who they can play with. She will suffer at the highest levels of play where she will be a situational pick and the Venom + Spider-Man duo will be far more prevalent without her than with. The best comps are going to be filled with heroes with great verticality and I don't see that meta changing much considering how much effort goes into making such playstyles possible in the first place, both on the dev side, and in terms of a player's skill. This game will be very fast paced in terms of its active combat but that will be both amplified and offset by the high level of mobility. Peni would do best in a slower-paced meta with more limited mobility. Although Tanks like Doctor Strange will be able to survive in this fast-paced meta despite being slower-paced than many of their peers due to the way their kits play out (two-way portals that can be fired through are essentially a temporary geometry changing ability, which is easily going to have the highest skill ceiling off any ability unless it is changed.) However, if she does get high enough dmg potential, which I doubt they will allow with balancing, then she might be more viable on all maps regardless of her weaknesses, although the glaring verticality weakness is not one I see her overcoming on open maps. I am very hopeful this game develops an esports scene of its own and receives some serious funding for it, especially because of how esports can grow the Marvel brand even further, something other games can't really capitalize on as easily despite successful attempts such the LoL TV show. They could even spin Disney+ content out of the esports, with backstage documentaries, making-of shows, team documentaries, player stories as short films, etc.

Not in the slightest. If you want DVA style mech ult mechanics play hulk. But I warn you, even Hulk is more Winston than Dva, as you spend much more time in Hulk form and the final form is a perma (til death) Winston ult.
