Even Odin is an insect compared to Dark Phoenix and the only Skrull who's all that powerful is Titannus who's clearly not allied with the Skrulls in the game (or comics). @@playerstation5624I think saving nightcrawler is the better option because, it doesn’t necessarily say dark phoenix is successful. Also the X-men have dealt with dark phoenix before. The other ending, the X-men are just completely gone.

There's a mod on PC that allows you to save both through Magneto.

When me and my best pal played this level, we wanted to save them both. He went to Jean, I went to Nightcrawler. We timed it right, looked at eachother and we saw the doors open and we high fived. Then they both fell and we yelled "WHAT?!" It broke our hearts.

Its influence is really only present in regards to the portrayal of the Guardians of the Galaxy (which uses the MCU-inspired redesigns from the comics instead of the actual MCU designs and keeps the comics backstories), the usage of black Nick Fury (mostly draws on the comics from the Ultimate universe though and black Fury was brought into the main universe of Earth-616 as white Fury's son anyway), Jessica Jones's portrayal being based on Krysten Ritter's, and Black Dwarf being renamed to Cull Obsidian. Everything else is practically ripped straight from the comics. It still manages to create a dissonance with the other two games that it is still supposedly in the same timeline as though (and, therefore, the X-Men: Legends games as well), due to its radical change in art style (comics-esque cel-shading vs more realistic look) and almost exclusively using Earth-616 designs instead of the earlier tendency to mix Ultimate and 616 designs.

I could be mistaken about that, however. Though, ever since the decision was made to not follow up on the Galactus sequel hook hinted at the end of MUA1, it hasn't really felt like keeping everything in a single timeline was mattered. It's still rather bizarre that MUA2 ignored everything that the first game hinted at being the premise for a sequel and the only thing from the first game that was relevant was the fact that Doctor Doom was no longer ruler of Latveria. MUA3's decision to not really mention anything about the previous games is, for better or worse, following precedent, even though it makes it feel even more disconnected than MUA2 did.

@@mortalrage11 What do you mean? Saving Namor is very attainable. Saving Jean Grey and Nightcrawler at the same time is not, not without mods.

With Nightcrawler dying, something definitely bad happens. If you save him, though, something manageable happens; Jean Grey may end up controlled by a being who just flat out hates everyone, but with people like Odin on the winning team, she'll be able to snap out of it. Hence her appearance in Ultimate Alliance 2 which states she once was indeed the Dark Phoenix

Ricky Alonso it depends on whom Magneto talks first, Jean or Kurt. He will save them both, but says different things to them. To Jean, it's: - Fear not, miss Grey, I will do what Xavier could not. To Nightcrawler, it's: - Control yourself, X-man. This cage may be from another world, but it still made of metal. And so, one of your teammates opens one cage, and another cage is being held by Magneto's powers. Both of them are free and safe, Mefisto will not have the aid of either of the two, and their death endings will be completely skipped.

This is actually exactly my playthrough as well. I was too low level to beat all the brutes destroying the computer fast enough. I talked to Jean first and decided to just try and save both quickly if I could. And I was still not strong enough to save Lilandra and stop the ship from blowing up before time ran out. Naturally I felt kinda salty knowing all the stuff that happens at the end.

Jean returning as the Dark Phoenix is something that happens almost in monthly basis to the X-Men. Disbanding forever is a far worse scenario. Also, in MUA2 Jean Grey is a playable character and she's all good.

I have a better idea for this choice. It should have made rescuing Ghost Rider optional, but more difficult. If you save him, he becomes instrumental in stopping Blackheart and Lilith from raising Armageddon. If you leave him there, Armageddon happens, millions die, and Dr Strange sacrifices himself to save what's left of humanity.
