When you look back again, those left left right right was actually writing 1&2 (Red Venom), 3&4(Orange Hulk), 5&6 (War machine), 7&8(Shadow Lady) 9&0. For Roll, it was writing a big S and a small S.

ah the memories i use to have this amazing game on dreamcast, i remember in a arcade in brighton i played this and beat it with one credit, it was displayed on a massive screen and i had people surrounding me watching, i remember being ryu and always using akumas move set, always loved the character select screen music just amazing

Play as Onslaught To play as Onslaught, successfully defeat each of the secret characters in arcade mode, saving then to a memory card. Once all the secret characters have been enabled, the Onslaught mode will open up on the the title screen, enabling player 1 to play Onslaught either with a second player or the CPU.

If I'm not mistaken you have to do that in the fight, it's a special move. (I'm not completely sure if it's still that way in origins)

Is there no way to save so I don’t have to keep entering the codes? I’ve tried exiting and going to save but when I turn off console and backup save, the characters need the code again.

I think they couldn't use Iron Man for legal reasons so they used War Machine instead.

To be honest red venom shouldve just been carnage, golden war machine shouldve been iron man, and orange hulk shouldve been red hulk. Real marvel characters

Capcom no longer had the license for Iron man at the time...so they did the next best thing....war machine and a palette swap. They got him back for MvC2 though.

I can easily see the differences for these hidden characters but not Orange Hulk's. Can anyone tell me what's the special aspect about it despite its color? Thanks!

if I remember correctly cause it's been a while. I think he can't block but he's basically walks through attacks. so you can't really combo him

do any of the alter versions have unique abilities or qualities to the original characters or are they just a re color or the originals

Red Venom (Carnage) is super fast, but with weaker defense. Orange Hulk is more agile, but more vulnerable to Hyper Combos. Gold War Machine has high defense, but cannot jump high & his Proton Cannon becomes a missile launcher. Shadow Lady (Chun-Li) has an altered move set & can perform 3 different Hyper Combos. Roll has a slightly different moveset & default special weapon than Mega Man. Lilith (Morrigan) has a "nerfed" moveset, but can still pull off Eternal Slumber.

what code did you put???????? Play as Roll At the character selection screen, highlight Zangief and press: Left (x2), Down (x2), Right (x2), Down (x2), Left (x2), Up, Right, Up (x2), Right (x2). (Upon correct entry, Roll will appear above MegaMan.) Roll looks like MegaMan but executes moves differently.

I have this game for PS1 and for some odd reason I can only pick 1 character. Does anyone know why that is? Marvel vs Capcom 1 for PS1 black disc. You fight Onslaught at the end. I remember playing this at my local arcade at the mall and picked Megaman&Ryu. That was my team, but on this game I have now it’s only letting pick 1 character to fight with. I’m confused.,

I don't know if 5 months later is too much, but here is the anwer: The ps1 version is a port of the game, as the RAM of that console is so limited, they removed the ability to play tag team and only kept assist, all of that to try to keep the graphics and everything else functioning well. The only way to play tag team in ps1 is against the same other characters, example player 1 select Gambit and ryu, and player 2 ryu and gambit, then they could fight with 2v2 as the game only has to load those 2 characters. I hope that made it clear enough, i am not native in english so i apologise if there is something wrong.

I think the easiest was war machine.. i imagine writting STD on screen... Roll is like a S with upstairs 2 steps... Others i can't ser anything.. or i still didn't payed enough attention... Can't see patterns.

She's not an unlockable. Both her & Shuma-Gorath were DLC when the game first came out. They are now accessible in the PS4/XBOX ONE Ultimate versions.
