As someone that's pretty familiar with the Avengers/characters that are part of the team but doesn't really ever know where to start comic wise, I think going back to basics in like an alternative universe book would be a nice idea

Spider-Man’s soul was freed from Mephisto by Doctor Strange in the Kindred Saga, but the timeline as it existed before One More Day will never be restored. Of course, that doesn’t mean they can’t build something new now

Depends on which character you're interested it. If you tell me some I could probably give some recommendations. But in general I would highly recommend Marvels by Alex Ross. It's very easy to read/understand for new readers and the art is amazing
