I really hope it's the former and whilst I'm not a big shipper I really liked them together. It was pretty brutal how their relationship ended. So I'm hoping they play this up in the series and whilst I don't expect a full on reunion (seasons 2 for both characters) I hope to see some sort of nod to indicate a future between them.
