Anyone else annoyed that the people speaking in these videos don’t really know what they’re talking about except what’s on the script, and the people who write the scripts aren’t double checking their information and providing notes like proper pronunciation for things? The first film of this series wasn’t titled Riddick, it’s titled Pitch Black. There are also 4 films that have already been made, Dark Fury is a short film at only 30 minutes, but it’s set between Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick and sets up the events of the third film introducing us to the bounty hunters chasing Riddick in the very beginning. Riddick was the title of the fourth film where Riddick is betrayed and left to die alone before joining other bounty hunters to survive. I’m not trying to criticize the voice artist for their work because they’re doing their job and trying to sound informative and engaging, but the people writing the scripts have consistently written really basic things wrong and the people voicing the videos have not been given proper notes on how to pronounce things or what the actual lore and history of these subjects goes, and it makes watching some of these videos very difficult because I know the information and presentation have been rushed and not properly checked

@@archangel1of7 Nope, play the games again. Escape from Butcher Bay(the game you're referring to) says that Riddick always had those eyes, and that they are a dormant Furyan trait. The doctor who supposedly "shines" his eyes literally tells Riddick that he didn't do anything to his eyes, but only patched up his arm. He also has a vision of of his Mom telling him about this dormant trait.

Pitch Black Escape From Dark Athena Chronicles of Riddick Riddick And taking place before Pitch Black there is the game Escape From Butcher Bay. Where he got is eyes shined. And the game Dark Athena which takes place around the same time as the movie Escape from Dark Athena.

That prison is all sorts of messed up. If they have Double Max and Triple Max sectors then their Maximum Security wasn't really maxed out security wise. It was just ⅓ Max at best. You gotta be good at math if you want to engineer a prison. No wonder he escaped.

To everyone Whining about the "Eyeshine"..... you are all wrong. It is something Riddick was born with, NOT due to a procedure Escape from Butcher Bay (The game) - "eyeshine doctor" literally tells Riddick that he only healed his arm and didn't do anything to his eyes. Chronicles of Riddick - Jack implies that Riddick lied about the Eyeshine, she looked everywhere for an "Eyeshine" doctor and couldn't find one, or anything related to it. Riddick (Movie) - Vaako tells Riddick he saw a Furyan warrior on Furya who's eyes shined just like Riddicks. More than enough evidence he didn't get his eyes shined, but activated a Recessive/Dormant Furyan gene

I guess Butcher Bay isn't canon and Slam City is? In the game, you acquire eye shine about 1/4 of the way into the game by a doctor. Also, at the time, the graphics and gameplay were impressive. I enjoyed it, but i was also a Pitch Black fan

1) The Chronicles of Riddick was 2004... Pitch Black was 2000... 2) Vin Diesel's career did NOT launch because of the Riddick films... He was already successful in other things - Such as Saving Private Ryan and Strays... He even did the voice of the "Iron Giant" from the very popular animated film "The Iron Giant"...

I was the Necrophage (deatheater) a decade before that necromonger movie came out. There were death-eaters in Harry Potter, but they were not called Necrophage. I derived it from Necroscope, the books by Brian Lumley (RIP) The first book, Necroscope, is an absolute horror masterpiece. The second one is just as good, Wamphyri. Horrific, sick vampire sadistic stuff. The third book was forgettable, because I forgot it. The 4th book: Deadspeak was the best in the series. Lumley caught a second wind with this book. That is pretty unusual for a writer in his 70s. I miss him. He was a creative writer, and a really weird dude. 😆 Sorry for the rant.
