"mean, darker, more selfish" is basically what I'd call every Ultimate comics version of a character.

I liked this version of Wolverine. he was more brutal and more like a soldier and his mutant ability is NOT a healing factor, but the ability to survive as demonstrated by fury who decapitated logan and explained that logan as able to talk by taking oxygen in from his skin. when they took out the oxygen in the room, wolverine went into stasis until oxygen came back. this happened in hulk vs wolverine i believe. 98% sure

Wolverine gets severely burned after getting combo'd by Cyclops' optic blast and Iron Man's repulsor blasts, both of which are concussive...makes total sense. But not as much sense as bringing a guy with metal bones to a fight with someone who can control metal. Granted, the 616 x-men have also made that same mistake. PIS is one heck of a thing.

Ultimate wolverine I think was a jerk yes but I think he got better in my opinion.

Yeah but except with the incidents of the nuke and being torn in half, his skeleton still remained intact and there was a substantial amount of flesh for him to regenerate from.

I always subscribed to Wolverine or Sabertooth DNA/Genetics being the source of CaptainAmericas SSD,, Nick Fury Infinity Serum,,Luke Cage experiment,,Wonderman & the masterminds were always RedSkull & Zemo in the post ww2 days(obviously original SSD was during WW2.)

I think Spider-Man was the best Ultimate comic but the Ultimates and X-Men started off good but it all got weird the longer it went on. The Fantastic Four was as bad as the movies.

I've said this before on other comments the love triangle with Logan, Jean & Scott is boring, old & ridiculous plus in other comics there probably times when Logan wanted to kill Scott or leave him to die somewhere so he can have Jean to himself. Knowing Jean despite that she secretly likes being fought over she would would never forgive Logan if he killed Scott or any one she cares about. Seriously Logan's had other romances bur always they send his a$$ back to fawning over Jean the only other woman who would trump Jean is Mariko Put her in front of Logan & see how fast he'll drop Jean.

Uhm...616 Wolverine had amnesia as well and he was definetely mean, dark and brutal. People probably don't get that because of how consistently bad Marvel writing has been in the last decade or couple decades. It went downhill since the Quesada run as editor in chief, I think. Try reading some classic Wolverine stuff. He really struggled controlling his rage bursts because he often used to go feral in fights, had zero problems killing and was pretty secretive about his own business. His past was largely a huge mystery until Wolverine: Origins (which was a nice miniseries per se, but damaged the character more than it helped it, in hindsight). As an old Marvel reader, while I liked the alternative takes on characters like Cap, Hulk and Thor, I never really saw the point with Ultimate Wolverine since it was basically just Wolverine. Granted, 616 Logan wasn't a Magneto agent, but he was still part of Weapon X, Team X and Alpha Flight, often being used for black ops. I guess he got so overused and written plainly when he became mainstream that currently he lost some of the edge that made him popular in the first place.

i honestly do NOT like this version of wolverine. his design is cool, but he's just a freakazoid with no nuance. he's a fully bad guy who just got manipulated by the good guys, whereas real wolverine has actual morals and depth.

I hate this it a version of Wolverine because 1: he is a fucking creep. 2: he Left cyclops for dead so he can have Jean all to himself. 4: He is more of a villain than a hero and the one thing that I Hate about this with all of its existence this that He tried to r##e mj who was A fucking teenager and I hate the ultimate x men in this universe. And I'm going to come out and say this: I hate the love for triangular between logan scott and jean Because it's now getting old Ridiculous and boring we already had this Love triangular once in the comics, we don't need this again. (Ps The good thing I like about this wolverine is his costume)
