This is the 27th Night Odd-Night Special Program in Ramadan 2024.
Ustadh Ali Ataie is a perennial student and researcher who has been involved in interfaith activities for over two decades. He holds a Masters in biblical studies with a focus on New Testament and biblical languages. He also holds a PhD in cultural and historical studies in religion from the Graduate Theological Union. His doctoral work focused on Muslim hermeneutics of biblical texts, especially the Gospel of John. He lives in San Ramon, CA with his wife Roya and three daughters. Sidi Ali Ataie studied various Islamic sciences with local San Francisco Bay Area scholars. He is a graduate of the Badr Arabic Language Institute in Hadramawt, Yemen, and studied at the prestigious Dar al-Mustafa, also in Hadramawt, under some of the most eminent scholars in the world. He holds a Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley (Oct. 2011), with emphasis upon the New Testament (he is the first Muslim seminarian in the over 150 year history of the school to earn this degree). He is certified in Arabic, Hebrew, and Biblical Greek, and is fluent in Farsi. He also holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Biblical Hermeneutics from the Graduate Theological Union (Oct. 2016) and is a professor of Arabic, Qur'an, and Comparative Theologies at Zaytuna College, the first accredited Muslim College in North America.

Ali Ataie was born in Tehran, Iran, and came to the United States in 1979. Brother Ataie earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He is currently a visiting assistant instructor of religious studies at Cal Poly, as well as an instructor of apologetics at the World Alliance for Humanity in Fremont, California. He is a student of sacred knowledge at Zaytuna Institute in Hayward, California, and an author of several books. His organization is dedicated to spreading and defending the truth about Islam in America. His books include "In Defense of Islam: Confronting the Christians with Their Own Scriptures" and "Injil-ul Haq: the True Gospel of Jesus Christ."
Ustadh Ali Ataie is a teacher and researcher of the Islamic sciences, specializing in theology and biblical interpretation. He is Adjunct Professor of Islamic Studies and World Religions at both Zaytuna College and the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, California. At the latter, Ustadh Ali is working towards a PhD in Islamic Biblical Hermeneutics. His comprehensive knowledge of the Jewish, Christian and Islamic traditions is matched by few. Ustadh Ali is certified in Arabic, Hebrew, and Biblical Greek, and fluent in Farsi.

وَقَوْلِهِمْ إِنَّا قَتَلْنَا الْمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَٰكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ ۚ وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ ۚ مَا لَهُم بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِلَّا اتِّبَاعَ الظَّنِّ ۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِينًا (157) بَل رَّفَعَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ ۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا And their saying, “Indeed, We killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the Messenger of God.” But they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it was made to appear to them. And indeed, those who differ concerning it are in doubt Because they have no knowledge of it except the following of conjecture, and they did not kill him with certainty. (157) Rather, God raised him up to Himself. And God is Mighty, Wise. (157)

The Chiasmus phenomena (the ring composition) is the absolute proof that made me come back to Islam. Now I'm obsessed with it. It's not only in small Surahs but in the largest Surahs as well. It would be impossible for a man to design that since Surah Baqarah has various asbab an-nuzul and it took 3 years to be revealed. So either the Prophet had secret computers, either Freemasons got together and did all of the Qur'an, or it simply is from God.

I'm curious. What made you leave? What alternative is there once you understand ISLAM? I get that we hit HIGHS and LOWS in our Faith, but in the end, we go to Allah. For me, worshipping Jesus as God is like listening to someone scratch a chalkboard. The Trinity is false. Bibles are written by ANONYMOUS WRITERS. I can't understand after all of this information contained in the Quran, how could a Muslim abandon his faith?

He has brought a historical jesus to muslim perspective. No one has done that before. He sets a new standard in modern Muslim scholarship. May Allah preserve Dr Ataie. Yet, he is way underrated. Probably we are too busy in debating among ourselves

In minute 51 an extra astounding thing is that the Jews used to mock the Sahaba for calling the prophet "Ra'ina" which in Arabic means our Shepherd while in Hebrew it sounds like the word "evil". So Allah with the verse mentioned in the video counters them masterfully giving the Jews a case where they said a word which in arabic sounds like "disobedience". SubhanAllah and Allah knows best.

The word “اَلْمَلِك” is one of the names or attributes of Allah SWT and it can mean “The King”, “The Sovereign” or “The One and Only King” and it should only be used for Allah SWT. The word “مَلِك” can be used for humans meaning king, monarch or ruler but it cannot be used as “اَلْمَلِك” for humans. The word MAALIK “مَالِك” or “مٰلِك” can mean bearer, owner; having; possessor; proprietor. But it is used as a name in Surah Zukhruf Ayah 77 for Angle of hell “مَالِك” so it cannot be a name or attribute of Allah SWT and it is never used in Quran for Allah SWT as His name so we cannot read “مَالِكِ” in Surah Al Fatiha Ayah 3. The word “اَلْمَلِك” possess the meaning of “مٰلِك” or written as “مَالِك”as well because The King owns his Kingdom. Surely Allah SWT "اَلْمَلِك" owns His Kingdom of Heavens and Earth. Impressive use of technicality and "circular" theory. But not a good practice to lower the scriptures sent in earlier times. There is Tribal content in All scriptures. In the Quran definetly a portion is directly talking to the poor, wandering, nomadic Bedouins. Even the bait of Heaven uses Things they Didn't have & Dreamt of : Water, greenery, actual homes, carpets/cushions, fruits and Gardens, fine clothing, servers, jewels & ornaments, etc .... this wouldn't Fly Today :) ! So just focus on the Glorious Quran and educate us. BTW do read the praises of God in the Psalm... you will be mesmerized elliptically
