I don’t know her personally so I can’t say what her true private vs public personae is but all events and appearances with royal families esp key marriages and births for next in lines are planned to the minute and controlled by PR staff. Very little is spontaneous. Generations of family public image tied to powerful orgs and big corps to protect.

She definitely had a royal makeover in her clothing. She went from wearing no name clothes to luxury name brand and the quality went up immensely. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Had she not married the Crown Prince , with her double First in Business Studies and Law and a post graduate Masters Degree in Marketing and publicity, CP Mary would probably have gone into politics.Instead,she has brought her professional training into her work as Crown Princess .Crown Prince Frederik works more in Denmark , promoting Danish businesses, Theatre, Music, and Sport , especially the Royal Run.They are now leading danish business delegations to promote World trade , and improve exports for Denmark. Both of them are highly intelligent , and are involved in leading seminars to promote green energy and post fossil fuel electricity generation.Together they are world leaders , and a formid ible team.Denmark is leaving Britain standing still, and making the British Royals looking like amateurs. At the same time they mix more with ordinary people , whereas our Royals mix socially only with the twits and Hurray Henrys of the Upper Class.. I doubt if Prince Charles realises what an uphill climb he has to do change our Momachy . Kate and Sophie are excellent ,but William and Edward are being pulled two ways at once

Oh yes, we are happy with Mary as we are very laid back in Denmark like they are in Australia. Of course she is highly educated, and so were both the first and second wife of his little brother. As women and men in Denmark generally are highly educated, we couldn't imagine if our prince had brought home an American socialite like Wallis Simpson or an actress like Me-Me-Meghan :)

And probably a tiny bit Scottish influence as both her parents grew up in Scotland?

@ana rod I agree but I think William and Kate are looking to be more like this RF and less old school like the Queen. W&K are genuine, nice people and it’s good they’re taking a leaf out of the Danish RF in modernising the UK Monarchy.

@@tess5747 I would not say that at all living in Britain. Wm & Kate will be training quite awhile as Prince of Wales. They are just beginning. We do hope they will truly be more like Diana and this Mary, breaking out of the overly matronly and scripted behavior as they get older and especially once Charles takes over. Of course everyone can learn languages! Everyone in Denmark speaks at least 2 other languages as this is mandatory from early age at school.

Janne, you correct. There was only One Who is perfect. But we can aspire to the higher, the better and the more loving and I believe this Danish Princess does. No one is perfect but as first an Aussie and now a Dane, Princess Mary has proven herself willing to stay at the Prince's side and pull her share. And, should the storms come, and they always do, she has the heart, the love and courage to bend but never break! God bless!

@@ma.corazondejuan98 I dont think there is - our royals are really good at keeping private and public apart in a way that they are generous to let os watch private moments in public which in return lets them have a private life (mostly) without the press.

Danish press compared to British press are less judgmental, more civil and not unfair, so there's that.
