Stray dogs are a major problem in Taiwan. There are abandoned dogs scattered all around the industrial districts of cities and deep in the mountains. We linked up with Mary's Doggies and joined her in rescuing a few dogs and visited a no kill shelter with more than 550 dogs.

I adopted one of Mary's dogs almost a year ago and it was absolutely the best decision I could have made. Mary does great work and I'd encourage anyone able to adopt one of her dogs.

Our dog, likely a Formosan mix, was born on the streets of Taiwan. Now she is 15 and remains the sweetest being on Earth.

Many people will be scared of the Taiwan Native Dogs when out walking. This is why my dog Misha usually wears something cute when we go out. Then people and kids will be so interested in her, rather than scared if she just has on a plain harness. I hope we can change even a few people's minds about Formosan Mountain Dogs by making videos and making her more approachable to encourage more adoptions of this wonderful breed.

I'm glad someone is taking the time to rescue Formosans. I'd love to see more in America. I have a little Formosan girl; I didn't know about them until Google Lens saved me an $80 DNA kit. My little girl was adopted too. I love her until the end of time. She looks like the black ones the rescue lady was sitting with. They were as cute as hell!

I have adopted Taiwan formosa mountain dogs , his owner torture and neglect him . The neighbors will give to government shelter for injection died . I have been brought him to vet and he need eat medicine 2 years . But he get well now, so healthy and so cute.

If not ready to be a responsible dog owners please don't even think of owning one. Owning a dog is talk of responsibility. Doing this kind of charity out of own pocket is very rewarding. Very touched by the story of helping these ill dogs that are starving wandering on the streets in Taiwan are very sad to see.

Yes owning a dog is a huge responsibility. We were very touched by Mary and her selfless mission to save as many dogs as possible. We hope this video can inspire at least one person to give a dog a second chance at life.

I saw 2 stray dogs at Daan Park in Taipei and they’re in terribly cold place. I’ve been there walking with my boss’ dog.please check them now.i feel so pity for them they have no bed and clothes,just sleeping inside the bushes

who are these people that just abandon their dog? they are not human to be able to do that. humans quickly form bonds with dogs, its in our genes. people who abandon dogs arent humans
