The first sensible video on Kobayashi's body of work I've seen and it's got just 155 views? Speak of an unjustly underrated channel.

"Ozu and Kurosawa - the Two Pillars of Japanese Cinema” by is a superficial and stupid statement by Western film critics who have a very superficial understanding of Japanese cinema. This is the same as saying “John Ford and Billy Wilder are two layers of American cinema” and when analyzing any American film, referring only to Ford and Wilder, it sounds funny, but Western critics, when analyzing any Japanese film, always refer to Kurosawa and Ozu😂 There are many great directors in Japanese cinema (and not only Kurosawa, Ozu, Mizoguchi) Nagisa Oshima, Keisuke Kinoshita, Mikio Naruse, Yasuzo Masumura, Yuzo Kawashima, Shohei Imamura, Kōji Wakamatsu, Shuji Terayama, Hiroshi Shimizu, Teinosuke Kinugasa, Heinosuke Gosho, Kinji Fukasaku, Masahiro Shinoda, Kaneto Shindô And so on!
