Very cool! One minor correction, though - the Isles have brought back Nyisles pretty much full time now, he shares mascot duties with Sparky.

It looks like when nyiles returned, he looked a little slimmer than his first time around.

Haha, true. They actually shrunk his head after the first season... and then in 2022 it looks like an entirely new costume and mask... with an even smaller head.

And Icethetics, there was actually a petition to give the Rangers a mascot in the form of the Ranger Rabbit.

Thank you for spotlighting Thrash. [ 5:33 ] He is still very much beloved here in Atlanta. Locals will never forget when he led the police on a Zamboni chase through the streets. 😅 And thank you for acknowledging the Gladiators and their (two-time) homage. Great series! I'm eager for the finale.

I know barely anyone will remember or even know, but the Coyotes used to have a second mascot names Pierre the Snowman. He was mainly used for promotional material. He was an iconic part of my childhood when we went to games in the 2000s. I believe there is still some of the videos left on KZfaq

Ever since the Jets started wearing their alternate jersey (the blue version of their heritage classic jersey) Benny has made his return and is at every jets game sporting the jets alternate jersey along with Mick e Moose

The Mick e Moose name reminds me of that one episode of the Muppets Show where Kermit asks a moose his name. 😂

Not sure where you can confirm this but the lore behind Nyisles was that he was kidnapped by Carlton the Bear.

For the rangers, they could make a character look like the statue of liberty 🗽 and name the character "lady liberty", or "liberty".

One thing I wanted to mention, Nyisles has been seen with the Islanders in the present day (2023) wearing the team’s usual uniform. I have seen him at UBS Arena via Islanders social media posts and images online. Islanders fans, can you back me up on this one?

Curious how many mascots actually skate on ice. Do they all? I always thought that’s got to be quite a feat for the performer inside the costume.

Yeah, they all do, at least when it comes to the Mascot Showdown game during All-Star weekend. Whether or not the skating performer is the same as the game night performer is anyone’s guess. I would assume they take ownership of the character and learn how to do it all but I can imagine it’s not for everyone.

Closest thing the Rangers have to a mascot is Dancing Larry, who comes out and does the same dance to the same song every home game. He’s just a bald dude not employed by the team. Rangers legend

I believe NJ devils eye color has been changed to blue. I think it was because the performer changed? No idea why.

I thought it was changed to green. Some older photos I found had blue eyes. I figured they did it recently in reference to all the throwback jerseys. Who knows.
