I’ve seen one reference of a Biturbo catching fire in an old review but not much more than that, there isn’t really any big reason they would catch fire unlike some other Italian cars with actual dangerous defects. F40 fuel sacks, 360 and f430 fuel pump defects. People just love to bad mouth the Biturbo, which it is undeserving of, this car is about as likely to burn down as any German car, but I still keep a fire extinguisher because anything can happen.

@@Rubbertoes17 I'm actually just repeating/stealing an old forum comment made by a guy who was a Maserati dealership mechanic back when these were new. He did say they drove amazing, but dealt with way too many design & build flaws and customers' cars that got toasty.

@@sabertoothrobot I do know of a service bulletin from back then that was a temperature sensor mounted under the back seats to see if the cat was overheating due to people leaving the choke on. When the sensor would see high temps it would flash the choke light on the dash.

Underrated is an understatement. These cars are absolutely amazing, not only do they give you all the typical Italian driving characteristics, but they are actually quite easy to work on and find parts for. Just gotta have Passion!

It’s faster than the M3 that’s for sure, and much more of a luxurious interior. Plus it’s about 1/8th the price of the bimmer

This car is very planted, I’ve got bilstein shocks all around and the front springs have been cut a bit which makes them a lot stiffer. It’s got the stock front sway bar, these cars don’t come with a rear sway bar but I don’t think they need it on the street.
